Sydney Thomas, the ring girl who went viral during the Jake Paul–Mike Tyson fight, is making sure to strike while the iron is hot.
After her in-ring appearance at the highly-anticipated Netflix boxing match on Friday, November 15 caused many viewers to sit up in their chairs, Thomas, 21, is taking meetings with Hollywood hotshots.
Thomas posted a picture via Instagram Story on Thursday, November 21 of a trip to the Creative Arts Agency (CAA) Sports offices. The model showed off a television screen welcoming her, complete with her black-and-white headshot.
She also posted a photo of herself gazing at a message on the CAA office wall, which read in part, “Everyone entering this space has been inspired to be here by an artist, an athlete, an amazing performance, or an unforgettable moment in pop culture.”
CAA Sports represents some of the biggest names in athletics, including MLB star Shohei Ohtani, NBA star Devin Booker, NHL star Sidney Crosby and WNBA star Cameron Brink.
It is unclear if Thomas has officially signed with CAA. Us Weekly has reached out to Thomas and CAA Sports for comment.
The meeting came directly on the heels of Thomas celebrating her 21st birthday on the evening of Wednesday, November 20.
“My people,” Thomas captioned a photo via Instagram Story of herself and a group of friends at a celebratory dinner. “I love you guys forever ❤️.”
The birthday shindig capped off a whirlwind week for Thomas, who exclusively told Us Weekly on Tuesday, November 19 that both her Instagram and TikTok followers grew by more than 350k the morning after the fight. Her follower totals have only increased exponentially since.
“I woke up and saw how my followers had gone up, and then saw all the news articles that had been written about me,” Thomas — currently a senior at the University of Alabama — told Us. “I refreshed my feed and it was just pictures of me and memes and everything. I think that was the moment for me where I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, like I really am going viral.’”
Thomas said her Instagram DM’s had been “flooded” in the immediate aftermath, calling the entire experience “overwhelming.”
“But at the same time, I’m also very blessed and very grateful. You know, what a problem to have,” Thomas said.
As for what comes next, Thomas said she first wants to obtain her college degree — but noted her eyes are also firmly set on making the most of her viral moment.
“I think what’s next for me is to continue building up my social media and continue working with [Paul’s] Most Valuable Promotions and being a ring girl,” Thomas added. “I think dialing into the ring girl and modeling aspect of my life and sharing that with my audience that I’ve now built up.”
