Nina Dobrev seemingly used her Halloween costume to poke fun at her recent broken engagement with Shaun White.
The Vampire Diaries alum, 36, unveiled snaps of her tongue-in-cheek Halloween fit on Saturday, November 1, revealing that she dressed up as Jennifer Tilly’s character Tiffany from the 1998 horror classic Bride of Chucky. Dobrev went all out for her Bride of Chucky look — including getting a fake chest tattoo of Chucky’s name over a pierced heart, just like in the movie.
Dobrev even carried around a miniature doll of Tiffany’s main squeeze, Chucky, as she partied with friends. In one slide, the Chucky doll was shown lying helpless and alone on a table.
Dobrev’s costume may have been a subtle jab at her ex-fiancé since White — like Chucky — is known for his fiery red hair.

News broke in September that Dobrev and White, 39, had suddenly ended their engagement after five years together. The breakup was particularly surprising since the former couple were photographed holding hands in public 11 days earlier and had recently posed in bed together on social media.
A source close to Dobrev and White confirmed exclusively to Us Weekly that there was “no cheating at all” during the relationship and that the two were seemingly on the same page about starting a family before breaking up.
“They both wanted a family,” an insider told Us. “It wasn’t that one wanted it more than the other.”
A separate source disclosed to Us that Dobrev “couldn’t wait to be married and to start a family with Shaun.”

While White jetted off to Beijing, China, to promote his winter sports league following the split, Dobrev spent time with family in Canada. She then joined friends Keleigh and Miles Teller and Chace Crawford on a yacht in Italy, where she was photographed having some flirty banter with longtime pal Zac Efron.
Despite rumors that Dobrev and Efron might be dating, Us subsequently learned in September that their connection was strictly platonic.
“Nina and Zac are not dating and have been good friends for over a decade,” a source exclusively told Us. “Their friends always joke that they should date, but that is not what is going on. They have been there for each other through many phases of life and have always had each other’s backs.”
The insider explained that Dobrev had been “leaning on her family and friends” in the wake of her split from White.
“[She] has truly felt a lot of love and support,” the source said. “Everyone has been lifting her spirits and she has been in a better place after taking some time away following her split from Shaun.”

Dobrev personally shut down the Efron dating rumors while speaking to TMZ photographers on October 1. The Degrassi star shook her head “no” when asked if there was “anything to that Zac Efron thing,” and then answered “yeah” when asked whether they were “just mates.”
Dobrev and White first sparked dating speculation in February 2020. The five-time Olympian popped the question with a five-carat ring from designer Lorraine Schwartz during a romantic meal at The Golden Swan in New York City in October 2024.
“RIP boyfriend, hello fiancé 💍♾️,” Dobrev announced via Instagram at the time, with White sharing in his own post: “She said YES 💍♾️”
Someone close to the couple explained to Us that Dobrev was completely astonished by White’s elegant proposal.
“Nina was totally surprised and they’re both wildly happy,” a source relayed.
