Teri Hatcher is all about keeping it real.
The Desperate Housewives star, 60, bared her face for her Instagram followers on Tuesday, August 5, sharing a series of selfies that she said are makeup-free and completely unfiltered.
In the snaps, Hatcher can be seen posing for the camera as she wears a white sports jacket and white headphones while walking outside during sunset.
“Walking at sunset in that magical golden hour any Oscar-winning DP would chase, I got curious to see, what is the difference and should it matter. So, Here’s a no-filter shot of me facing the sun, and with it at my back,” the actress wrote alongside the photos.
“Every line…a story of real human effort, successes & flaws. Feel free to zoom in. Is one angle more forgiving? More ‘beautiful’? How we frame beauty is everything — my perception? I choose gratitude for the time gifted in every wrinkle,” she continued.
“I first put my naked face out there in 2010—everyone told me I was crazy, but 15 years later, I’m still here, still saying it’s okay to be real,” she wrote, referring to bare-faced pictures she shared via Facebook in 2010.
Hatcher tagged her latest post with the hashtags #GoldenHour and #RealAndSpectacular.
Back in August 2010, Hatcher shared a series of pictures of herself without any makeup after stepping out of the bathtub.
“Out of the bath, getting ready for bed,” she wrote at the time. “Thought about all those damn critics of my face. Love it or hate it, my face that is, no surgery, no implants, no matter what ‘they’ say. Decided I’d shoot myself in to reveal some truths about ‘beauty’ and hope it makes you all easier on yourself.”
“Did I every toy with fillers or Botox over the years? Yes,” she captioned another photo, denying that she’d had Botox. “Tell me, does this look Botoxed to you?”
In December 2019, Hatcher again celebrated body positivity after completing an eight-week fitness challenge. To mark the occasion, she shared bikini pictures showing off her toned body via Instagram.
She wrote at the time: “Exercise has become a source of well-being not a means to look good naked. As part of my @f45_training 8 week challenge, we had to submit an after photo. So why actually post a pic of myself in a bikini? Well, this is my truth and being in this 55 year old body actually feels liberating.”
“Here’s the thing. I’ve finally figured out how to be comfortable in my own skin. Maybe not every day but a lot of them. Age allows you to be clear on your purpose and cherish who and what you are grateful for. You have enough age to see the miracle of life and enough youth to revel in that knowledge,” Hatcher continued. “You can be vulnerable and strong at the same time. You can forgive others and yourself. You are willing to put in the effort to reach a goal…or not. And that’s okay. Mostly, you know to make the most of every moment. For me that is sharing joy & positivity, knowledge I’ve gained through experience both successes and failures, and helping to lift others up.”
Hatcher concluded the post, “Sharing myself in a bikini (which I may or may not ever wear again) Is me Being open to others, open to life… finding glorious connection and community. No filters, no makeup, no airbrushing, no negativity. Be strong enough to be vulnerable.”
