I’m headed from the Midwest to Arizona this weekend, and the thought of packing is making my head spin. They’re calling for highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s, and it’s such a struggle finding clothing items to accommodate those significant temperature swings, similar to the ones that occur between winter and spring.

It got me thinking about which clothing items best satisfy both winter and spring weather, and to my pleasant surprise, the list ended up longer than I expected. Below, you’ll find my favorites from Nordstrom and Amazon, starting at just $17. There are vests, lightweight jackets, button-ups, midi skirts and more, all in a cornucopia of colors, patterns and, of course, florals.

15 Fun and Versatile Staples for Winter and Spring

Just-Right Jackets

1. Boutique-Looking Jacket: This quilted jacket is a maximalist’s dream — and it’s inexpensive, too! The flirty patterned fabric is perfect for ushering in spring while staying warm.

2. Blazer of Glory: Taylor Swift’s Super Bowl ‘fit was further evidence that a blazer is always the way. This on-sale stunner looks equally good with a turtleneck or silk tank underneath, depending on the temps.

3. Vest-Obsessed: The window during which you want your torso bundled and your arms bare is small but almost here! This puffy number, available in both springy hues and neutrals, can be dressed up or down with jeans or leggings.

4. Leather Weather: An Amazon bestseller, this slouchy outer layer is loose enough to fit bulky clothing underneath, but it also allows for much-needed airflow once spring is in full swing.

5. Cropped Cutie: When a thigh-length parka isn’t in order, this darling jacket that hits at the waist works wonders. The pink and purple options are a cute pop of color for this time of year.

Valentine’s Day is approaching, which might mean something special to all the lovebirds out there. For me, however, it means one thing: spring is near! Lately, I’ve been adding cute dresses, lightweight jackets, and stylish sunglasses to my cart while belting sappy songs from R&B playlists (after all, it is the season of love).  There’s […]

Shoulder-Season Shirts

6. Business Casual: This silky button-up does it all by helping you transition from winter into spring and from work to happy hour. The all-purpose top comes in seven sizes.

7. One-Shoulder Wonder: Spring is for showing the skin that hasn’t seen sun since September. Enter: this sassy asymmetrical shirt that covers just one shoulder. The raspberry shade is adorable.

8. Florals for Spring: It might not be groundbreaking, but it’s darn cute. This cream-colored cardigan with 3D flowers manages to scream both winter and spring all at once.

9. Crochet All Day: Layer this turtleneck sweater tank over a long-sleeve shirt or, once spring rolls around, rock it on its own with baggy jeans. Buyers rave about its thick knit and pretty pattern.

10. Pajama-rama: This striped top absolutely nails the nightshirts-as-streetwear trend. The long sleeves keep your arms covered, but the colors and lines are spring-friendly.

Everything Else

11. Dreamy Jeans: The bright blue wash makes this pair of pants ideal for spring, but don’t worry — your winter boots will still look cute peeking out from under the straight legs.

12. Jaw-Dropping Drop-Waist: This bubble skirt has a punch of personality compared to other midi and maxi skirts, and we’re obsessed! It keeps your legs protected on those breezy April evenings.

13. Dress to Impress: You’ll look fit for the Italian countryside in this ribbed, long-sleeve sweater dress that comes in 16 colors (we like the beige and black best). Time to book your spring break trip!

14. Silky Smooth: This gorgeous scarf, in either yellow or pink, is worth the splurge. Lighter-weight than its woven counterparts, the floral accessory complements sweaters and tees alike.

15. Skirt Around: Available in three colors, this mid-length denim skirt is the perfect accompaniment to both your chunky platform sandals or your knee-high leather boots. We’re digging the ‘dark indigo salome’ hue.
