While both Lala Kent and Scheana Shay made appearances on season 2 of The Valley, only one of them brought the drama on screen.

During an episode of Heather McDonald‘s “Juicy Scoop” podcast on Thursday, January 30, Lala, 34, was asked about her cameo on The Valley. “I wouldn’t say I’m a big part of it. I pop in,” she said. “I’m very, very pregnant at that point in time. We will see what makes it. It just made sense.”

Lala was more excited to see Scheana’s scenes. “Scheana is a part of it,” she noted. “I think she gets her hands a little bit dirty, which I love.”

In addition to Lala and Scheana, 39, Tom Schwartz and Brock Davies are also expected to appear on the Vanderpump Rules spinoff. The Valley had gone into production before Bravo confirmed Vanderpump Rules would be going through a cast overhaul for season 12.

“What a thrill it is to build on the legacy of this series by doing it all over again,” executive producer Alex Baskin shared in a November 2024 statement. “With profound appreciation for the original group and their iconic run, we can’t wait for the audience to see a dynamic new group of coworkers and friends make their way through life together.”

Bravo originally put VPR season 12 on pause after the cast ended up at odds following Tom Sandoval‘s split from Ariana Madix due to his affair with Rachel “Raquel” Leviss. While the new cast has yet to be announced, multiple former stars have opened up about being ready for a change.

“I am excited for new opportunities ahead outside of Vanderpump Rules, but I’m also a nostalgic person and it’s never easy to say goodbye,” Scheana shared on a December 2024 episode of her “Scheananigans” podcast. “Lala and I had a good cry about it on the podcast, something that was such a big part of my life for so long. But also I think it was time. Honestly, it all feels right. It’s still all happening. It’s just happening a little differently.”

Scheana noted that the news about season 12 didn’t come as a surprise to her.

“Any sad feelings that I have about not returning for season 12 are mostly not being able to work with that crew anymore. I loved the crew that we’ve had and hopefully, we’ll be able to work together on other projects because we became like a family,” she continued. “So that was definitely the hardest part. And the whole thing was bittersweet. It’s sad to say goodbye, but excited for the new servers and the next chapter of their lives.”

While reflecting on the end of an era, Scheana confirmed she had no plans to make amends with any of her now-former costars.

“I don’t think I will change anything that I have been [doing]. I text Ariana here and there. I ran into Katie [Maloney] at a festival, but I’m not going to reach out more [or] reach out less,” she explained. “I’m just going to continue doing what I’ve been doing because show or no show, all of these people have been in our lives for so long.”

She concluded: “So it’s like, ‘When I see you, I see you. And when I don’t, I’m living my life.’ I’m just going to continue on the same path I’m on and excited for new adventures.”

The Valley, meanwhile, followed the same cast after being a success in its first season. Jax Taylor, Brittany Cartwright and Kristen Doute are starring in season 2 alongside Luke Broderick, Danny Booko and Nia Booko, Jesse Lally and Michelle Lally and Jason Caperna and Janet Caperna.
