Fans of the New York Mets will relish in the newest addition to the concession stand, with Oscar Mayer hitting a hotdog home run.
For the 2025 baseball season, the Mets are serving up gourmet dishes at Citi Field, but the most buzzed-about creation wasn’t even real — until Oscar Mayer stepped in.
“The Dog Bowl,” 12 hot dogs piled inside a Mets helmet for $12.99, quickly went viral on X before fans realized it was simply an AI-generated image.
Oscar Mayer caught wind of the viral moment and decided to make the fake image into a real thing for Mets fans — and many people assumed it was an April Fools’ joke from the hot dog company.
“To be frank, we were fooled at first too. But we have the buns to do it for real,” Oscar Mayer wrote in an Instagram post. “In honor of today, we’re introducing the Oscar Mayer Wienie Bowl.”
Fans cheered the news, with one writing: “This is the coolest thing ever.”
Just in time for the Mets’ home opener today, April 4, the brand is making the Oscar Mayer Wienie Bowl a reality.
The iconic Wienermobile will be bringing its buns to Queens on Friday where Hotdoggers will be stationed outside Citi Field handing out free Wienie Bowls to Mets fans.
And fans not in New York still have a chance to get their hands on the doggone good snack.
Oscar Mayer shared that fans nationwide can tag @oscarmayer in their stadium hot dog photos for a potential visit from the 27-foot hot dog on wheels carrying the Wienie Bowl.
Wiener takes all!
