Kourtney Kardashian had an Italian getaway to celebrate her daughter Penelope’s 13th birthday.
On Sunday, July 13, Kardashian, 46, shared several photos and clips from Penelope’s special celebration abroad, including a picture of her posing in a yellow cardigan and shorts in their hotel, a video of her blowing out a birthday cake and some notes that friends and family wrote her.
“My little lady is 13 🥺💘,” Kardashian captioned the Instagram carousel. “Being her mommy is one of the greatest things I have ever done. She inspires me to be a better person every day. I won’t ever have the words for how much joy and love she brings to my life. She is the cooooolessssst 🐞.”
Kardashian and ex Scott Disick welcomed Penelope in July 2012. The twosome, who had an on-again, off-again relationship from 2006 to 2015, also share sons Mason, 15, and Reign, 10. (Kardashian also shares 19-month-old son Rocky with her husband, Travis Barker.)
Disick, 42, for his part, shared a birthday message of his own on his Instagram account.
“I have no words 2 explain my love 4 the greatest gift in life and that’s my peep aleep!” he wrote on Wednesday, July 9, alongside a picture of Penelope when she was young. “Happy bday my love!”
Although Kardashian and Disick split in 2015, the twosome have continued to remain successful coparents with their three kids.
“The truth is, my problems shouldn’t affect the kids,” Disick told Us Weekly in June 2019. “Just because their mother and I couldn’t make it as a perfect, romantic couple shouldn’t have anything to do with the kids. They don’t deserve our mistakes, so we figured out a way.”
Disick noted that they “still need to be as honest and as good to each other as if [they] were together.”

“Let’s raise these children together and that’s it,” he added.
After they called it quits, Kardashian had a relationship with Younes Bendjima from 2016 to 2018 before she started dating Barker, 49, in 2021. The twosome tied the knot in May 2022 before giving birth to Rocky in November 2023.
Disick, for his part, was linked to several different women before beginning a long-term relationship with Sofia Richie in 2017. The pair eventually went their separate ways in August 2020.
Kardashian previously shared that one of the “hardest” parts of coparenting was when they started new relationships with Bendjima, 32, and Richie, 26.
“That caused fights between you and I about introducing the kids,” she explained in a YouTube video in April 2019. “We literally had to go to therapy to be able to, like, communicate together.”
