Kirsten Vaughn made headlines in 2020 when she was fired from her mechanic job over her OnlyFans account. Now, five years later, she’s not looking back.

“It’s like turning lemons into margaritas,” Vaughn, known online as MsRed or VermilionVixen, joked of her journey during an exclusive interview with Us Weekly.

In the weeks after being let go from her role, Vaughn began helping out at a different mechanic shop alongside her now-husband’s dad. After a stint working there for free, Vaughn started investing in the business and ultimately took over the financials in 2022. “I own my own shop pretty much,” Vaughn shared.

Vaughn has also continued posting content on her OnlyFans, which she launched in 2020 — and has since become a multi-millionaire thanks to her various endeavors.

The stars of Vanderpump Rules are no strangers to controversy. The staff of Lisa Vanderpump’s West Hollywood restaurant SUR made their debut on Bravo in 2013 as part of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills spinoff. The season 1 cast included Vanderpump, Stassi Schroeder, Jax Taylor, Katie Maloney, Tom Sandoval, Kristen Doute and Scheana Shay. […]

When asked what kind of message she would want to send to her former company, Vaughn quipped, “Thank you so much for firing me.”

Back in 2020, Vaughn’s coworkers in Fort Wayne, Indiana, discovered her OnlyFans account and allegedly began watching her videos on the job — which she claimed led management to blame her for causing a distraction.

“I get in this argument with my general manager because he gives me all this info. He says basically that a wife of one of my fellow mechanics came to them and said that I was making content on the property,” Vaughn recalled. “I used to come in at 6 a.m. and leave late. So initially I was taking photos in the bathroom before I clocked into work and it would just be like, ‘This is what’s underneath my uniform.’”

Vaughn claimed there were “no identifying factors” in the photos, which she said her general manager “wasn’t even mad about.” Despite this, she went on to be fired shortly after.

“I was instantly so mad because I was like, ‘This is so hypocritical,’” she recalled of her mindset at the time. “I can’t remember if it was that meeting or the next meeting where the HR guy was like, ‘Don’t you think this makes you more susceptible to sexual harassment?’ I was like, ‘Excuse me?’”

At the time, Vaughn was making $1,000 per week at her mechanic job — and earning twice as much on OnlyFans. While recognizing the platform’s lucrativeness, Vaughn went on to tell her general manager that she was “not gonna stop” posting on the internet.

Afterward, Vaughn shared her story online and was met with “mixed” reactions from her fans. While she was receiving “tons of support” from some, Vaughn shared that she was also “getting death threats.”

“I did not expect that level of negativity, honestly,” Vaughn admitted. “I did not expect people to care that much. You guys act like I’m breaking the law. I’m just selling some nudes. It’s not that deep.”

As she balances her mechanic career with her OnlyFans page, Vaughn shared that she “absolutely [did] not” expect to be able to pursue both simultaneously.

“I never planned for any of this to happen,” she said. “It’s just one of those things where fate has just opened opportunities up and I had the means to do it. So I’ve just been honestly riding the wave and taking things as I can and just doing my best to keep up with everything as I go.”
