Since splitting in 2020, Southern Charm‘s Austen Kroll and ex Madison LeCroy have become like gal pals, so much so that Austen has no problem confiding in Madison about his girl troubles.
“So, when was the last time you had crabs?” Madison, 35, cheekily asks Austen, 38, breaking the ice in Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek at the Wednesday, December 3, episode of the Bravo series. “If you don’t feel comfortable answering that you don’t have to.”
Austen responds with a slow, “Ha. Ha. Ha.” before getting into the more serious topic of his relationship with Audrey Pratt.
Madison reveals during their sitdown that when she spoke with Audrey at costar Salley Carson’s beach party one day prior, Audrey claimed she’s been doing most the work in her and Austen’s long-distance relationship.
“It’s been like 90/10 of him coming to Charlotte versus me coming here,” Audrey tells Madison in a flashback clip from the bash, which was the main focus of last week’s episode.
Madison then asks Austen what’s really going on between him and Audrey as they live in Charleston, South Carolina, and Charlotte, North Carolina, respectively while trying to date.

“I just feel that when she’s here, I’m like, this is f***ing good and easy. I’m not gonna lie, it’s been easy,” Austen tells Madison at the table. “I also have the other end of it, where I feel like when she’s gone, I’m like, ‘Is this, like, forever?’”
Austen questions where he and Audrey are heading, asking Madison, “Am I supposed to have those thoughts about the person that I could potentially spend the rest of my life with? Am I even supposed to second guess about someone that I should be like, I cannot even think about breathing without you in my life.”
Madison, who is married to Brett Randle, quickly responds, “You have to be able to say, I can’t breathe without you. I would literally die.” (Madison was pregnant filming season 11 of Southern Charm. She welcomed her and Brett’s daughter, Teddi, in June. She also shares son Hudson with ex-husband Josh Hughes.)
Madison gives Austen a little tough love, adding, “Listen, your time is valuable and hers as well. I wouldn’t keep dragging it out if you know that it’s not [your] endgame.”
She ends on a high note, teasing, “You might find someone out there who actually takes your breath [away].”
Austen, meanwhile, tells the cameras that amid his and Audrey’s ups and downs he’s not sure if settling down is what he wants.

“I’m 37 going on 38 and I’m like, ‘Am I a guy who’s going to get married?’” he confesses. “How can someone be so sure of such a f***ing forever long commitment?”
Austen and Madison dated on and off for two years, calling it quits in December 2020. Austen moved on with former costar Olivia Flowers, before dating Audrey starting in 2023.
While filming season 11 of Southern Charm earlier this year, rumors surfaced that Austen and Audrey called it quits. Austen exclusively confirmed to Us in November that he and Audrey were no longer together, teasing fans will see their romance fizzle out during the current season.
Austen also teased last month that once he splits from Audrey, he connects with Salley, 30, who is already in a love triangle with newbie Charley Manley and Craig Conover to start the season.
“People who watched the trailer and think that they saw the whole movie, you don’t even know,” Austen joked to Us.
Salley, for her part, made her intentions about Austen known during the Wednesday, November 26, episode of the Bravo series.
“I’m a girls’ girl, I love Audrey, but my personality fits with Austen very well,” Salley told a few of her castmates on the episode. “Would I hook up with him? The day after they break up, Let’s go!”
Southern Charm airs on Bravo Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET.
