Designer Lisa McKinnon called out FedEx after custom costumes she made for ice dancer Christina Carreira went missing shortly before she was set to compete at the 2026 Winter Olympics held in Milan, Italy.

“It’s like pulling teeth to get answers from calling FedEx!!!” she vented in her Instagram post on Thursday, January 29, tagging their official page while issuing a public statement in hopes of hearing back from the delivery services company.

“We’re heartbroken and so incredibly disappointed with you! We really really need you to come through for us right now!! We have an Olympic costume that has allegedly been ‘stuck’ at the memphis fedex facility since Sunday,” she wrote.

McKinnon’s one-of-a-kind outfits — made for Carreira’s rhythm dance and free dance — were shipped out on Saturday, January 24, and were originally supposed to be arriving on Monday, January 26, and they were running out of time. “It’s now Thursday and the skaters are literally on their way to the Olympics in Milan without the costume!!!” McKinnon continued.

“We’ve been calling every day and have been told it will be on the plane and delivered ‘tomorrow.’ Still no movement nor actual update,” she shared.

McKinnon pleaded, “I’m reaching out to you all, my amazing followers, to see if anyone has any direct connections to anyone working at the main FedEx facility in Memphis that can help us????” Fortunately, the designer got a quick reply from the company’s social media team, which noted they were on it, reading, “We want to help out and are looking into this!”

Carreira, who will be joining forces with Anthony Ponomarenko, also tagged the company and wrote, “Please help!! @fedex.”

McKinnon noted in a January 30 update that she was well aware of the weather issues in Memphis “and that people are struggling and it’s awful.” She pointed out, “It is not however the weather delay that’s the main issue for us in this situation, it’s the fact that they don’t know where the package is.”

Fortunately, Carreira will be hitting the ice in style because “they found it” she wrote with a crying emoji.

McKinnon also shared her excitement, posting, “Our small, but mighty, skating community has come together and through a friend of a friend within US Figure Skating, whom had a colleague in Memphis that knew someone that worked at the hub and that could physically go find the package, it was found late last night and is en route for delivery today! Thank you!!!”
