Little People, Big World alum Audrey Roloff is addressing the backlash to her and husband Jeremy Roloff’s decision not to purchase his family farm.
“Things my July content didn’t tell you about my July,” Audrey, 35, began via Instagram on Wednesday, August 5. “Received some absolutely cruel messages from people who have two percent context for a hard decision we had to make as a family.”
Elsewhere in her Instagram roundup, Audrey revealed that she and Jeremy, 36, “ultimately decided not” to buy Roloff Farms when given the opportunity earlier this year.
“While we felt confident in our decision, it was already a really hard one to make,” she stated. “I chose to share about it because I know so many families based on priorities and unforeseen life circumstances, but I’m still human and those messages still hurt despite the ignorance.”
Audrey’s sister-in-law Isabel Roloff, who lives on the farm land with husband Jacob Roloff, swiftly clapped back at Audrey’s apparent attempts to “save” the property.
“Honestly? It feels incredibly disappointing,” Isabel, 30, wrote via TikTok later on Wednesday. “They have never talked to us about it. We don’t have the money to ‘save’ it but we are here, every day, showing up, working it. We tend to the plants and animals and the land of this place. At the end of the day? You just need money.”
She continued, “I just get a bad taste in my mouth that they talk about it like they would be the ones to come in and save the day when we’re here, wishing we could find a way to make it work. They never asked if we wanted to work together.”
Audrey has not publicly addressed Isabel’s comments.
LPBW patriarch Matt Roloff initially purchased the 109-acre farm in Oregon with then-wife Amy Roloff, who eventually sold her shares to her ex when they divorced in 2016. Matt, 64, first listed 16 acres for sale in 2022, claiming that his eldest sons, twins Jeremy and Zach Roloff, weren’t interested in jointly taking over the operations. (Jacob, 29, and Isabel rent a house on the farm, where they help take care of the animals and vegetation.)
“Jer’s dad told the kids he was going to list Roloff Farms for sale again,” Audrey wrote via Instagram in March. “It has been on and off the market over the last six years since we tried to buy it in 2020. Obviously, a lot of healing and moving on has happened since then. We have been busy building our own dream on the property we bought a couple years after the farm fell through, but after having [our son] Bode’s birthday in the barn last month, we sort of had this ‘what if’ moment.”
At the time, Audrey noted that she and Jeremy felt “conflicted” about the chance to buy Roloff Farms before they chose to walk away from the negotiation table.
