Suspected Tucson cop killer Alex James Barnett, 33, has been arrested after authorities say they found him hiding out in an apartment complex nearly a week after the home invasion shooting of Tucson police recruit Carlos Ramirez, 23.

Ramirez’s fiancee, a Pima County corrections officer, was hospitalized in stable condition after the attack.

Authorities were tipped off to Barnett’s hideout near East Broadway Boulevard and South Camino Seco around 6 p.m. Monday, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement. County SWAT officers arrested him after a three-hour standoff, and no one else was hurt.
