Kristi Noem’s estranged husband, Bryon Noem, is speaking out after the former Secretary of Homeland Security filed for divorce in the wake of his public “bimbo” scandal.
“Bryon is saddened that the marriage is ending and hopes for a private and amicable resolution,” Bryon’s attorney, Tim Bottum, said in a statement to TMZ published on Wednesday, September 30. “If court proceedings become necessary, Bryon will welcome the opportunity to truthfully share his perspective.”
Bottom continued in the reported statement, “Bryon’s priority is to protect the family and move forward as loving parents and grandparents.”
Us also reached out to Bryon’s legal counsel for comment regarding the divorce but did not hear back at the time of publication.
According to court documents obtained by Us on Tuesday, September 29, the former South Dakota governor, 54, filed paperwork to dissolve her marriage on April 6 in South Dakota’s Hamlin County. (Us reached out to Kristi’s lawyer and Bryon at the time for comment but did not hear back.)
She cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split following her estranged husband’s highly publicized “bimbo” scandal.
Earlier this year, Bryon made headlines after he was accused of living a double life amid his estranged wife’s publicly scrutinized relationship with former Donald Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski. In March, the Daily Mail published alleged photos of Bryon appearing to wear fake breasts, claiming Byron allegedly paid to speak to models in the “bimbofication” scene via online forums. (Bimbofication refers to individuals who have undergone surgical enhancements in an effort to look more doll-like.)
In the alleged photos, Bryon appeared to be dressed in pink hot pants while reportedly wearing fake breasts that appeared to be made of balloons. Per the outlet, Bryon reportedly paid $25,000 to chat with online models in the “bimbofication” scene.
According to the outlet, Bryon allegedly sent a message to one model in which he expressed his love for “huge, huge ridiculous boobs.”
Shortly after the alleged photos were made public, Kristi broke her silence on the scandal.
“Ms. Noem is devastated,” a spokesperson for the former United States Secretary of Homeland Security said in a statement to the New York Post on March 31. “The family was blindsided by this, and they ask for privacy and prayers at the time.”

Kristi and Bryon tied the knot in 1992. The couple share three children: daughters Kassidy and Kennedy and son Booker. Kristi and Bryon are also grandparents.
President Trump — who terminated Kristi’s role as Secretary of Homeland Security and reassigned the former governor to what many have criticized as the “superfluous” role of United States Special Envoy for the Shield of the Americas — eventually addressed Bryon’s scandal.
“I feel badly for the family, if that’s the case. That’s too bad,” Trump told the Daily Mail in March. “I haven’t seen anything. I don’t know anything about it. That’s too bad, but I just know nothing about it.”
