19 Kids and Counting alum Jessa Duggar has announced that she is expanding her brood.
“We have six kids and we’re actually expecting again. Six weeks pregnant with number 7,” Jessa, 33, said in a Tuesday, October 27, teaser for the following day’s “Unplanned Podcast” episode.
The reality TV star appeared on the podcast with her husband, Ben Seewald, as co-host Matt Howard asked the couple, “Does anybody know this?” and his co-host and wife, Abby Howard, remarked in shock, “Stop.”
Us has reached out to Jessa for comment.
Jessa and Seewald, 31, who got married in 2014 when they were respectively 21 and 19, are already parents to sons Spurgeon, 10, Henry, 9, George, 2, and Eddie, 1, as well as daughters Ivy, 7, and Fern, 5.
Eddie was welcomed into the world in August last year following a seven-and-a-half-hour labor. His safe arrival was shared via a series of YouTube videos posted at the time that included Jessa’s parents, Jim Bob Duggar and Michelle Duggar, meeting their new grandchild for the first time.
In the podcast episode’s teaser, Seewald was asked whether he had been intimidated by conservative Christian Jim Bob, 61, as he courted one of his nine daughters. “I mean a little bit, but also, if he doesn’t like me then I’m still single,” Seewald recalled of his feelings at the time before Matt, 28, joked that there were “multiple other daughters” for him to chase.
The joke drew laughter from everybody in the room.

19 Kids and Counting aired on TLC from 2008 to 2015, and followed the devout Independent Fundamentalist Baptist (IFB) family as Jim Bob and Michelle’s young children grew into teenagers and adulthood. While Jim Bob and Michelle, 60, remain tied to the religious congregation, many of their children’s families, including Jessa and Seewald’s, have shifted into more relaxed practices.
As for recreating a clan of 19 children of her own, Jessa said in a May 2025 social media clip that she wasn’t planning on bringing that many children into the world. “I’m not going to have 19 kids, but honestly, my mom is my hero. I love her, I adore her [and] she is my role model in so many ways,” Jessa said at the time.
“Her patience, her love, her gentleness [and] her kind speech. She is the golden example of a mother, in my opinion. So, when people say, ‘Do you want to be like your mother?’ I’m like, ‘Yes, please, Lord, help me.’”
