Families planning a spooky getaway to Walt Disney World this Halloween might face a bill comparable to a luxury European vacation, according to a striking new study.

Researchers crunched Disney pricing data and Booking.com information to compare a trip to Disney World during Halloween and a vacation to Spain, Italy and Greece over the same time.

They found that a seven-night stay on-site at Disney World over Halloween week costs a family of four an average of nearly $5,000 – surpassing lodging costs in premier European destinations.

At high-end park resorts, prices skyrocketed to nearly $10,000 for the week of Halloween.

Vacation rental marketplace FloridaRentals.com analyzed official Disney pricing data and found that families fork over $4,924 on average just for staying at a Disney resort from Oct. 25 through Nov. 1, 2026.

By comparison, a week in Spain averages just $1,710 for a family of four—a staggering 65% cheaper than staying on Disney grounds.

A weeklong trip to Greece averages $2,806 (43% cheaper), while a week in Italy runs around $3,768 (23% less).

Last-minute Halloween bookings at Disney’s elite Beach Club Resort reach an eye-popping $9,879.30 for a seven-night stay.

Even Disney’s most budget-friendly option listed, Coronado Springs Resort, costs $2,159 for the week.

Data indicates that the average cost for on-site Disney lodging for a seven-night stay for four is $4,064 during May 2027—meaning last-minute Halloween rates carry a 21% mark-up over spring 2027 pricing.

Cost for a 7-night stay, family of 4 (least expensive to most expensive, October 2026):

  • 1. Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort ($2,159)
  • 2. Disney’s Port Orleans Resort – Riverside ($2,735.30)
  • 3. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort ($2,802.45)
  • 4. Disney’s Art of Animation Resort ($3,686.40)
  • 5. Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge ($3,745.60)
  • 6. Disney’s Boardwalk Inn ($4,698.40)
  • 7. Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort ($5,485.60)

Researchers pulled pricing directly from Disney World’s official website to calculate the weeklong stay rates.

Disney’s park prices are only skyrocketing. The park quietly raised ticket prices earlier this month, pushing its single-day “Park Hopper” pass past $300 for peak weekend visits.

Top-tier single-day single-park tickets bumped up to $229, while VIP line-skipping “Lightning Lane” passes jumped to $499.

Halloween is Disney World’s longest annual event, running from August 7 through October 31, 2026. Parkgoers flock to Magic Kingdom for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, a separately ticketed nighttime celebration. Prices for the event range from $119 to $229 per person, separate from park tickets.

Longtime parkgoers have noticed the price surge.

One Facebook user said they paid $88 a person in 2019 for Michey’s Halloween party, and paid $144 per person this year.

“I paid $105 per person in 2018.. I think it was closer to Halloween. Now I’m seeing for a Friday on Oct $199.. beyond ridiculous,” commented another, with prices not including resort stays and park tickets per person.
