The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives star Zac Affleck shared a sweet 5th birthday tribute to daughter Nora hours after news broke that his wife, Jen Affleck, filed for divorce.
“Happy Birthday to my baby girl! You have the biggest heart and make everything feel a little extra magical. I love you,” Zac, 30, captioned a video montage of moments with his daughter posted via Instagram on Wednesday, November 4.
Zac and Jen, 27, also share son Luca, 3, and daughter Penny, 16 months. Jen is currently pregnant with the estranged couple’s fourth child.
TMZ reported earlier on Wednesday that Jen had filed for divorce from Zac in Utah on Tuesday, November 3, one day before Nora’s birthday. The reality star submitted a proposed parenting plan, though the details of the document remain private.
Jen and Zac rose to fame in 2024 on Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. She is also set to appear on spinoff The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives: Orange County, which premieres on November 12.
The Mormon couple announced that they were expecting baby No. 4 in June. A month later, Jen opened up about once again experiencing prenatal depression.
“Prenatal depression came back this pregnancy. Only this time, it came back even heavier,” she wrote via Instagram on July 23. “There were many days during my first trimester where my mind went to some really dark places. It scared me. And if you’ve ever experienced depression, you know how isolating it can feel. Add moving to a new state, being pregnant, and trying to show up for your kids, and some days felt impossible.”
“Friends, family, strangers… people who had no idea how much they were carrying me just by being there,” Jen wrote. “They reminded me that even when I couldn’t see the light, I wasn’t walking through the darkness alone.”
She continued, “I don’t believe depression is beautiful. It’s painful, confusing, and exhausting. But I do believe God can bring beauty from it. It has made me ask deeper questions. It has made me slow down. It has reminded me what really matters. It has taught me that strength sometimes looks like asking for help instead of pretending you’re OK.”
In April 2025, Jen opened up about her marriage to Zac in an exclusive interview with Us while promoting the second season of Mormon Wives.
“[Our marriage is a] night and day difference at this point,” she said at the time. “Every single day we tell each other, we’re like, ‘If we can get through this, we can get through anything.’”
