Kelly Rutherford has long been my style inspiration. The actress’ aesthetic is defined by elegant neutrals, timeless closet staples and quiet luxury. So, when I saw her latest Instagram carousel debuting a slew of outfits, I took notes.
In a mirror selfie, Rutherford carried a slouchy onyx handbag and wore simple jewelry, including oversized diamond studs and a leather wrist watch. While these tiny accents discreetly communicated ‘luxury,’ her sweater was even more drool-worthy. The only problem? Her exact 440me style costs $250. The PrettyGarden turtleneck sweater is the Goldilocks of knits, offering a subtly oversized fit, drop shoulders, ribbed hemlines and a comfortable high neck. The fabric is ultra cozy, making it perfect for snuggling up on the couch or wearing to your local coffee shop.
The oat hue is perhaps most notable, which is reminiscent of Rutherford’s original style. It’s highly versatile, pairing with fall-favorite colors, including oxblood, navy and olive green.
Due to its chameleon-like nature, it’s simple to style. Wear it with faux-fur-lined loafers for a slow weekend, or dress it up with biscotti-colored booties for the office. As for bottoms, everything from trousers to jeans and skirts will do.
Shoppers can’t get over how homey the sweater is either, with one shopper calling it “so darn cozy and comfortable.” Another reviewer chose to dress theirs up with a “black sequin pencil skirt and strappy heels.” The result? A look that felt modern, elegant and comfortable.
