A Guide to the Wives and Girlfriends of Formula 1’s Biggest Stars: From Max Verstappen to Charles LeClerc

The best and brightest of Formula 1 always know who finishes in first place off the racetrack. 

With the growing popularity of F1, thanks in large part to Netflix’s Drive to Survive, there has been increased interest in the wives and girlfriends of the sport’s most accomplished drivers — some of whom have become celebrities in their own right. 

While many of F1’s most recognizable names are currently single (we’re looking at you, Lando Norris) and some have extensive dating histories, other top names in the sport are currently in the throes of love when they’re not speeding around a track at over 200 miles per hour.

Max Verstappen and Kelly Piquet 

Max Verstappen has been dating girlfriend Kelly Piquet since 2020. 

However, the couple’s love story actually extends even further than that. In an interview with Vogue Netherlands in December 2022, Piquet recalled meeting Verstappen, for the first time in 2016. 

“Something magical happened that night,” Piquet told the publication. Verstappen was 19 years old at the time, while Piquet was 28.

Piquet, who has daughter Penelope, 5, from a previous relationship, has shared how Verstappen stepped up to the plate in more ways than one. 

“I think we have a very healthy relationship, easygoing, we have a lot of understanding and support for each other,” she told Vogue Netherlands. “You would think the age difference could be a challenge, but so far things are going really well. I also really appreciate how he treats Penelope. It’s so sweet to see. He always asks for her, always visits her to say hello when he leaves, and gets her love back. So cute!”

Charles Leclerc and Alexandra Saint Mleux

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc started dating girlfriend Alexandra Saint Mleux in early 2023. 

The couple made their first public outing together at Wimbledon in July 2023. Leclerc and Saint Mleux stepped out again together at the Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters in Monaco in April 2024. 

A TikTok star with over 1 million followers, Saint Mleux has supported Leclerc at multiple races, including the Monaco Grand Prix in May 2024. 

Oscar Piastri and Lily Zneimer

Australian-born Oscar Piastri met girlfriend Lily Zneimer while at boarding school in England, per ESPN, where the two began dating in 2018.

“We keep it private, [but] not secretive like some relationships are,” Piastri, told Dax Shepherd on his “Eff One With DRS” podcast in December 2023. “We keep it to ourselves and try to be out of the spotlight and just live normal lives.”

When Piastri won his first F1 race at the Hungarian Grand Prix in July, Zneimer wasn’t able to be in attendance — but Piastri sent her a message back home. 

“Hi to Lily, I’m sure you’re watching. I will see you soon,” Piastri said. “Thanks. This is for everyone, this isn’t just for me.”

Carlos Sainz and Rebecca Donaldson

Carlos Sainz has been linked to girlfriend Rebecca Donaldson since the summer of 2023 — but the rumored couple has kept things lowkey. 

At the Mexican Grand Prix in October 2023, Donaldson, who previously dated Scott Disick, was seen planting a kiss on Sainz, who races for Ferrari. 

In November 2023, F1 fans’ ears perked up when Sainz mentioned his “current girlfriend” in an interview with Charles Leclerc. When asked if he’d ever have a “quickie marriage,” Sainz called it a “trick question.”

George Russell and Carmen Montero Mundt

Mercedes driver George Russell has been dating girlfriend Carmen Montero Mundt since 2020. 

During an Instagram Q&A, Mundt revealed she met Russell, through a mutual friend. 

Mundt routinely posts pictures from her world travels with Russell, including an October 2024 trip to Austria. “Schnitzel, cows, uno and friends 🧡,” she captioned the photos, which included a handful with Russell. 

Sergio Perez and Carola Martinez

Sergio Perez has been married to wife Carola Martinez since 2018. 

Perez and Martinez — both raised in Guadalajara, Mexico — share four children: sons Sergio and Emilio, daughter Carlota and a son born in September 2023 whose name has not been revealed. 

With his growing family, Perez has been candid about the difficulty of balancing it all. 

“Every time you go away, you think about every goodbye you say to your kids,” Perez told reporters in August 2022. “It’s hard. It’s a sport that takes everything out of you, out of your personal life. You basically don’t have much of a personal life, because you are always working.”

Alex Albon and Lily Muni He

Alex Albon has been dating professional golfer Lily Muni He since 2019.

An accomplished athlete in her own right, Chinese-born Muni He has also developed a major fanbase on social media with nearly 1 million followers on Instagram.

She often shares photos with Albon, including snaps from a date night in Portofino, Italy in August 2024. 

Albon frequently shares photos of the couple’s adventures, as well, with the racer showing off pictures from a recent LPGA tournament in China via Instagram in October 2024. 

Nico Hulkenberg and Egle Ruskyte

German-born Nico Hulkenberg and wife Egle Ruskyte got married in 2021 after getting engaged the previous summer.

Hulkenberg, started dating Ruskyte, who owns her own fashion business specializing in crochet and beachwear, in 2015. The couple share daughter Noemi, whom they welcomed in 2021.

In May 2024, Hulkenberg showed off a picture via Instagram of his familial trio attending the Monaco Grand Prix. 

Ruskyte showed off photos via Instagram from their daughter’s third birthday celebration in September 2024. ​​”Our little princess and our happiness turns 3 today, we love you to the moon and back ❤️❤️❤️❤️,” she captioned the pictures. 

Lance Stroll and Marilou Belanger

Lance Stroll and girlfriend Marilou Belanger confirmed their relationship in December 2023. 

Belanger posted a photo of her and Stroll on the sidelines of the Miami Dolphins game against the Dallas Cowboys at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium, complete with heart and Christmas tree emojis. 

Based in Montreal, Belanger is a professional model. 

Pierre Gasly and Kika Cerqueira Gomes

Alpine driver Pierre Gasly has been dating girlfriend Kika Cerqueira Gomes since 2022. 

To celebrate Valentine’s Day in 2023, Gomes posted a series of photos together with Gaslyvia via Instagram, captioned with a heart heart emoji. 

Born in Portugal, Gomes is the daughter of TV presenter Maria Vieira de Campos Cerqueira Gomes and Pure McLaren Drive Team driver Gonçalo Gomes.

A model and influencer, Gomes has nearly 1 million followers on Instagram.
