They’re going to fight for their right not to have a party.

With the summer soiree season fast approaching, Airbnb is implementing “anti-party” technology that mitigates the chances of “disruptive” crashers turning their rental units into animal houses.

“Our anti-party technology is designed to help identify and prevent certain attempts to book one-to-two-night stays in entire home listings that could be higher risk for a disruptive party,” the booking firm declared in a statement.

This prophylactic policy will be rolled out during the upcoming Memorial Day and Fourth of July weekends, marking the fourth consecutive year that the California-based company has instated these anti-shindig safeguards.

Since the policy’s introduction in 2020, Airbnb has “seen an over 50 percent decrease in the rate of party reports” in the US, per the site. SOPA Images/LightRocket via Getty Images

Airbnb’s aim is to help protect both hosts and neighbors from soiree-related shenanigans, including excessive noise, overcrowding, trash, smoking and vandalism. They also wanted to reduce the number of listings that employ “party-friendly” or “event-friendly” terminology.

To lessen the chances of disruptive parties, which are banned on the platform, the anti-party tech examines and assesses various factors ranging from the listing type to the length of stay and distance from the booker’s location.

They then determine whether or not the guests should be blocked based on these criteria.

Customers who are prevented from booking an entire home “will instead have the option to book alternative accommodations on Airbnb,” per the site.

“If guests believe they were unfairly affected by these measures, we encourage them to reach out to our Community Support team directly,” Airbnb reps told Fox News Digital.

Fortunately, it appears that the technological party pooper is doing its job.

The system has either obstructed or redirected 51,000 people from booking entire home listings over the 2024 holiday weekends due to the aforementioned party fouls.

Meanwhile, since the policy’s introduction in 2020, Airbnb has “seen an over 50 percent decrease in the rate of party reports” in the US, per the site. “In 2024, fewer than approximately 0.06 percent of reservations on Airbnb in the US resulted in a report of a party.”

Coincidentally, Texas, Florida, and California were the states where guests most frequently threw disruptive parties last year.

This could potentially be a banner weekend for going buck wild. A projected 45.1 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home over the Memorial Day weekend, AAA announced.

From Thursday, May 22 to Monday, May 26, domestic travel is expected to see an increase of 1.4 million travelers compared to last year — setting a new weekend for the holiday weekend.
