Barstool Sports personality Frank Fleming, otherwise known as Frank the Tank, was hospitalized after an issue with his foot led to the loss of a lot of blood.
“I sprung a leak,” Frank, 49, said in a video shared via X on Thursday, August 14. “Just started shooting blood. My shoe was soaked in blood, I didn’t even feel any pain.”
Frank explained that he looked down at his foot which was “red as f***ing all hell” and he was “tracking blood” while walking.
“I looked and I got a pin prick, I little pin hole just squirting blood,” he continued. “Apparently, I have varicose veins. I got to be on crutches. Can’t put weight on my foot the next couple of days.”
The internet personality told fans he was going to “try” to attend the New York Mets baseball game over the weekend. (Frank covers the Mets for Barstool.)
“I just can’t f***ing believe this s***,” he concluded the video.

In a separate X post on Friday, August 15, Frank shared a photo of the varicose veins in his foot. (According to Mayo Clinic, they are bulging, enlarged veins that most often affect the legs.) Followers could see the small hole he was referencing in the previous video.
Frank’s injury came amid his ongoing walking streak, which has been chronicled on social media. The Barstool personality has made it his goal to walk 20,000 steps a day as part of his weight loss journey.
“I need to be on crutches the next few days I cant put weight on my right instep any suggestions how to keep my streak alive,” he wrote via X on Thursday.”
Frank previously weighed over 500 pounds and has been sharing his ongoing health journey with Barstool fans. In January 2024, Frank revealed that he weighed in at under 350 pounds for the first time in two decades.

“I’ve been making some good progress, I think,” he said in a video shared via X at the time. He further explained his weight struggles, sharing that he hit 500 pounds in 2015 or 2016. He lost weight when hospitalized with an MRSA infection around that same time, but the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 derailed any progress he made.
“That is a very good number — very good number,” he shared in the same video, when coming in at 343.2 pounds.
After revealing the issue with his foot on Thursday, Frank promised fans that he would try to keep the walking streak alive.
“I’m going to do my best to keep this streak going,” he said. “I may not be getting my 20,000 steps over the next few days, but I’m going to do my best to walk with these crutches.”
