Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s daughter Vivienne has filed a legal petition to drop her father’s surname from her own.

According to documents filed with the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles on Monday, July 20, and obtained by Us, Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, 18, is seeking to change her name to Vivienne Marcheline Jolie. People was first to report on the news.

The filing included a declaration that was signed by Vivienne on Sunday, July 12 — her 18th birthday — and the reason for her filing was listed as “personal.”

Us has reached out to representatives for Angelina and Brad for comment.

Four of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s six children have taken steps to remove “Pitt” from their names. After Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in September 2016 citing “irreconcilable differences,” Maddox, Zahara, Shiloh and Vivienne have each distanced themselves — publicly or legally — from their famous father by changing their last names. A hearing in light of the teenager’s petition is now scheduled for Monday, November 2, per court documents also obtained by Us.

Vivienne is the latest child shared by Angelina, 51, and Brad, 62, to have taken legal proceedings in dropping the actor’s last name from their own. In June, Us reported on legal documents filed with the same court by Zahara Jolie-Pitt, 21. Her hearing is scheduled for Monday, September 28, in Los Angeles.

Maddox Jolie-Pitt, 24, is also scheduled to have his petition discussed in court on September 14 after filing his legal paperwork, obtained by Us at the time, on May 28.

In 2024, Shiloh Jolie, 20, also filed to drop ‘Pitt’ from her surname. Her May filing was legally granted on August 19 that year.

The former couple’s other two children, Knox, 18, and Pax, 22, have not legally petitioned to alter Jolie-Pitt.

After news of Zahara’s filing broke last month, a source previously told Us exclusively that it was “unfortunate when a parent deliberately alienates their children from the other.”

A second insider also exclusively told Us at the time that the children were “now adults and make their own decisions.” The second source continued last month, “It’s really horrible that [Pitt] has tried to paint himself as a victim. When will people start asking real questions about what happened to the kids?”

Us confirmed on December 30, 2024, that Brad and Angelina had settled their divorce after filing to end their marriage eight years prior.

The actors were together for a decade before they married in an intimate ceremony in August 2014. Two years later, in September 2016, Angelina filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.

The exes were declared legally single since November 2019, but had been battling one another in court over custody issues and their French winery, Château Miraval. Angelina and Brad continue to fight over the winery, with Us reporting last month that the California Court of Appeal sided with Brad on overruling a lower court’s decision that allowed Russian businessman Yuri Shefler to walk away from the ongoing drama.

Documents obtained at the time showed that Brad claimed that after Angelina sold her shares of the winery to Tenute del Mondo, a subsidiary of the Stoli Group, in 2021, he became an “unwilling partner” of Shefler.

Angelina’s attorney Paul Murphy said in a statement to Us at the time, “The ruling has no impact on the merits of the case, and certainly has no impact on Ms. Jolie’s case. At this point, Ms. Jolie is just looking forward to defeating the case at trial next year so that their family can finally focus their energies on healing and moving on.”
