Candy Spelling is one proud mom.
Us Weekly caught up with Candy, 79, on Thursday, March 27, at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles for the 36th Annual GLAAD Media Awards. When asked if she listens to her daughter Tori Spelling’s hit podcast “misSPELLING,” she gave a candid, over-the-moon parental response.
“Of course I do!” Candy told Us exclusively at the award ceremony, which will air April 12 on Hulu. “Yes, I am always [proud of her]. Are you kidding? She’s my child, who is not proud of their child?”
It may be surprising to some fans to hear that Candy is an avid listener of her daughter’s podcast, given how candid Tori is about her personal life on air. Some of her most behind-the-scenes confessions have had to do with her sex life and split from Dean McDermott.
“I could talk about sex all day,” Spelling said on an August 2024 episode where she chatted with family friend William Shatner about OnlyFans, orgasms, enemas and more. “So, I’m not mad.”
She went on to get very candid about anal sex, telling listeners that she enjoys it and uses an enema prior to the act.
“I actually enjoy it,” she explained, noting that she’s unsure about the nerve endings in that part of the body. “If it goes in here, it’s touching something that feels good.”
While Spelling considers anal sex to be pleasurable, she did admit that she has yet to achieve an orgasm from it, telling fans that is a “whole other challenge.”
In another episode, the actress admitted to engaging in her first and only threesome with a man and a woman while filming Beverly Hills, 90210 aboard the Queen Mary.

“I didn’t have any exploration wants with a female,” she said in February 2025. “So this was behind the scenes, behind closed doors of the Queen Mary, of all places. My goodness. This boy wanted it and I played along. I don’t think at any point he was like, ‘Oh, my god,’ because he would never have gone forward with it if I had spoken up and said, ‘I don’t want to do this.’”
She continued, “But yeah, I was like, ‘OK, you know, I feel safe with this human. I feel safe with this female human.’ And sure, I always say you gotta try anything once.”
In addition to gushing over her daughter’s podcast – regardless of its content — Candy also praised Tori’s party-throwing skills.
“Yes, well that’s because I used to give them the best birthday parties,” Candy said of the birthday parties she threw Tori, 51, and her brother, Randy, adding that her daughter is able to throw epic celebratory get-togethers for her five children because she “learns from the best.” (Tori shares Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn and Beau with her ex, McDermott.)
