Chris Hemsworth is known around the world as Marvel’s Thor — and he also has many other charming attributes

Hemsworth, 42, first picked up his character’s legendary almighty hammer for the 2011 film Thor, and has reprised the role eight more times in Thor: God of Thunder, The Avengers, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Thor: Ragnarok, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, Loki, and Thor: Love and Thunder.

But when he’s not busy saving the world — or the universe — Hemsworth is a dad to three children he shares with his wife, Elsa Pataky. The couple welcomed daughter India Rose and twin sons Sasha and Tristan in May 2012 and March 2014, respectively.

In fact, his family was out in full force when it was time to support Hemsworth at his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in May 2024 — an event that took place only one year after the actor tampered down rumors of his retirement.

“It all got a little sort of blown out of proportion,” he told Entertainment Tonight in 2023 of stories he planned to depart from filmmaking. “I wanted to take off because I’ve been working for 10 years, and I’ve got three kids that I want to spend more time with. Doing that show, each episode resonated in such a way that made me realize how life is just flying by, and I wanted to be still for long periods and more often.”
