Christian Siriano is spilling some major Project Runway season 21 tea.

“Oh, my God, it’s so good,” Siriano, 39, told Us Weekly exclusively on the 2025 Tony Awards red carpet in New York City on Sunday, June 8. “Heidi [Klum]’s back. She’s incredible. She’s so major.”

Klum, 52, announced in January that she would be returning to host the show after an eight-year hiatus. She will be joined by mentor Siriano, along with judges Nina Garcia and Law Roach.

“Heidi and Law don’t like the same things at all, which makes it really great,” Siriano teased to Us. “Law doesn’t really like anything, which makes it even better. It’s great.”

Project Runway premiered on Bravo in 2004 with Klum as a host alongside Tim Gunn (who revealed in February that he wasn’t asked back). After five seasons, the show moved to Lifetime, where it lived until 2017, and Bravo picked the series up once again. The most recent season, full of “All Stars,” aired in 2023 and crowned Bishme Cromartie as the winner.

The show is gearing up for its season 21 premiere via Freeform next month, and is also set to stream via Disney+ and Hulu.

For Siriano, it was an easy decision to return as a mentor.

“Right now, it’s so hard to be a brand and survive in this business,” he told Us. “So, to help a young designer is great.”

Klum previously gushed about her highly anticipated return to the show.

“It’s felt like coming home, really like coming home,” she told People last month. “I can do it with my eyes closed, even though I’m judging clothes, so I have to have my eyes open, but I can do it with my eyes closed.”

She added, “I just love fashion so much, and I love how interested they are and how they’re champing at the bit to get a spot in the fashion industry. So, it’s so fun to give them a platform to show what they can do.”

Klum teased what she wants fans of the fashion world to remember going forward.

“I feel like everyone should wear what the heck they want to wear,” she said. “I feel like that’s what makes us all individually special, so I feel like rules are just not the way to go. But other than that, I feel like in fashion, anything is possible right now. “

Project Runway will make its highly anticipated return on Thursday, July 31, with a two-episode premiere starting at 9 p.m. ET on Freeform. Episodes will be available to stream the next day on Hulu and Disney+.
