Eagles vs. Chiefs Super Bowl — Astrology of Game Day
This year, the Super Bowl takes place on February 9, when the sun, representing vitality and trajectory, will shine through the mechanical heart of Aquarius. The moon, symbolizing instinct and emotion, will glow in the moody moors of Cancer.
Add to the mix, or field, that Mars, our jockstrap planet of will, drive, and getting it done, is currently retrograding in Cancer.
When the planet downshifts, so too does the actionable adrenaline and hot-blooded pulse of our life force, as our energy is directed internally rather than externally.
Think of it as the astrological equivalent of erectile dysfunction.
Further, the moon in Cancer will be conjunct Mars retrograde.
Astrologer Meghan Rose, author of Star-Crossed on Substack, tells The Post, “Having the moon (deep emotions and inner world experience) meeting up with Mars (the planet of aggression, action, and energy) can be dicey. Super Bowl 2025 is destined to be a highly passive-aggressive game, with tension running thick from start to finish.”
This Mars/moon conjunction instigates emotional reactions, outbursts, and flaring tempers, an energy that could lead to penalties, fouls, unnecessary roughness, and altercations on the field.
Balls will fumble, pop stars will cheer, hearts will break and Kendrick Lamar will bring us to our knees — but not necessarily in that order.
Kansas City Chiefs: A Potential Three-Peat

The Kansas City Chiefs were established on August 14, 1959, as the Dallas Texans, making the team a hungry-hearted Leo sun with a swashbuckling Sagittarius moon.
As Rose notes, Pluto, our planet of endings, reckonings, and karmic retribution, will directly oppose the team’s sun sign on game day.
What does this mean?
“The team can expect struggles, unexpected shake-ups, and potential public scrutiny during this transit. This doesn’t necessarily indicate a “Deflategate” level situation (we’re looking at you, Pats circa 2015), but there could be controversy.
Whether it’s an offhand comment, an on-field altercation, or an unexpected roster decision from their coach in a pivotal play, something will surprise this team and their millions of viewers,” Rose told The Post.
Rose predicts that Super Bowl LIX will be Travis Kelce’s most challenging game yet.
“The Chiefs’ star tight end had astrological help last year, with Pluto in Capricorn boosting his strength. However, this year, Venus in Aries opposes his Libra Sun, and Mars in Cancer highlights his Chiron, meaning personal and emotional wounds could surface. The cosmic energy doesn’t look as favorable for a triumphant repeat,” she said.
Astrologer Daniela Karpenos of @thecosmiclatte predicts that the Chiefs will struggle to hit their stride or their marks.
She told The Post, “The Chiefs’ team’s chart has Mars in Leo, which may make it hard for them to tap into their usual energy, though I believe they’ll find a way to dig deep. It might look like they’re struggling and falling behind initially, but they’ll eventually find their rhythm and turn things around.”
If the Chiefs can keep their egos in check, their feels under control, and their eye on the ball, they stand a chance at winning three back-to-back Super Bowl titles.
“The most challenging aspect of game day is Mars retrograde in Cancer conjunct with the Moon. Lucky for them, this aspect is offset or positioned away from their team’s placements, giving them a slight upper hand,” Astrologer Mak of @starryeyedmystic shared with the Post.
Philadelphia Eagles: The Stars Show a Nail-Biter Game
The Iggles, as they are affectionately known, were established on July 8, 1933, meaning the team’s sun falls under the emotionally intuitive, somewhat erratic sign of Cancer with a weirder than a box of hair, charismatic cult leader Aquarius moon.
This combination suggests deep emotionality and serious IDGAF energy.
Rose shares, “The Eagle’s Aquarius Moon aligning with Pluto in Aquarius mirrors what happened last year with the Chiefs’ Capricorn Moon and Pluto in Capricorn alignment. This celestial nudge has them riding a wave of destiny. This could be a sign of the Eagles stepping into the winner’s circle.”
The real “kicker,” according to Rose?
“The North Node of Destiny in Pisces is opposing the Eagles’ natal Jupiter (the planet of good fortune) in Virgo. This aspect could bring an unexpected, game-changing win, ushering out old stories and rewriting the narrative of the “big day.”
Rose notes that Saturn, our planet of hard knocks, deep discipline, and long-term payoffs, will also oppose the Birds’ Jupiter in Virgo, indicating, “They’ll have a chance to pull off major power plays—perhaps even in the game’s final moments.”
In terms of player star stats, Eagles QB Jalen Hurts was born on August 7, 1998 making him a Leo sun with an opposing Aquarius moon and a Cancer Mars. The tension between his born-to-shine sun sign and his ‘concern for the collective’ moon makes him an extraordinary leader and an uncommon sportsman.
Rose shared, “Hurts is heavily impacted by this year’s Pluto in Aquarius. His natal Jupiter in Pisces aligns with Venus and the North Node of Destiny, both currently in Pisces. Translation? The universe is backing him. This could be a career-defining moment where Hurts cements his legacy for years to come.”
Who is favored?
Based on Mars being in retrograde, Karpenos is unconvinced that Hurts, and the Eagles flock will have the gusto to go all the way for a win.
“The Eagles won’t secure the momentum they hoped for in this game. However, the stars are strongly aligned in their favor in February 2026.”

Rose is banking on a Philly win, “I believe the Philadelphia Eagles will be the major upset winners for Super Bowl 2025 after a dramatic and arduous game between these two teams.

“Kansas City wins,” she told The Post, “Expect a nail-biter that goes back and forth until the end—energy drainer for all players – a total slog. Emotions will dominate the game. You will not have an idea of who is going to win this game until the end”.

I put my money and stardust on the Eagles folks, mainly because I’m afraid of their fan base, which cheers hard, riots harder, and takes wins and losses with equal intensity.
