Former University of Michigan head football coach Sherrone Moore had a bevy of eclectic personal items in his office when he was arrested and subsequently fired last December. 

Moore, 40, left behind his wedding ring, a Bible, a police patch, smelling salts, a bottle of whiskey, a box of Fruit Loops and six bottles of cologne, according to documents obtained by Sportico on Thursday, October 8. 

“Text messages indicate Moore’s representative had initiated the process of retrieving his belongings in the hours after his arrest, and the school was quick to oblige,” the outlet reported. 

Moore’s office also held 36 books, 46 pictures, 21 notebooks and notepads, 10 mugs or cups, 15 binders, 22 folders, 67 hats, 86 casual shirts, 87 sweatshirts, hoodies and crewnecks, 63 pairs of shoes, including dress shoes, cleats and a single wrestling shoe, 15 suits, 16 dress shirts, 39 pairs of pants, 14 pairs of sweatpants, 33 pairs of shorts, 57 pairs of socks and two pairs of sandals.

The disgraced coach was fired by the University of Michigan on December 10, 2025, after it was revealed he had an “inappropriate relationship” with a female staff member, later identified as Paige Shiver. 

On the same day of his termination, Moore was arrested after he allegedly tried to break into Shiver’s apartment, where she claimed he threatened her and suggested he would take his own life. 

Shiver, 32, later revealed that she became pregnant with Moore’s baby during their affair, though she ended the pregnancy after the unborn baby was diagnosed with Pompe disease, a genetic disorder that weakens muscle strength.

“Multiple doctors and experts told me that it wouldn’t be right or healthy for me to keep the baby,” Shiver told reporter Good Morning America’s Linsey Davis in April. 

Shiver alleged that Moore supported her decision, urging her to “do what’s right for your body.”

Moore – who shares three daughters with his wife, Kelli – was charged with felony home invasion, misdemeanor stalking and misdemeanor breaking and entering, though all of those charges were eventually dropped. 

During a court appearance in March, Sherrone pleaded no contest to new misdemeanor charges of malicious use of a telecommunications device in context of a domestic relationship and trespassing.

Sherrone was sentenced to 18 months probation in April, avoiding jail time. 

“First of all, I want to thank my Lord and savior, Jesus Christ, for his grace and guidance during this difficult time,” Sherrone said in court at the time. “I want to thank my beautiful wife, Kelli, for her support and standing by me.”
