Choreographer Stephon Vann never thought his dance moves set to the iconic “Law & Order: SVU” theme would go viral.

But they unexpectedly caught the attention of just the right people — series stars Mariska Hargitay and Kelli Giddish, who enthusiastically mimicked his dance team’s moves in their own recent viral clip.

“I was jumping up and down for joy,” Vann told The Post after seeing the actors shimmying to the beat together as a “Special Dance Unit” — with Hargitay even doing a deep-knee-bent air guitar in the process.

“When I saw her, like, really get into it, I was, like, ‘Oh, my gosh, this is something. I’m just doing a little silly dance that I made up off the top of my head!’” he said of their Instagram post, which received likes and comments from celebs including Olivia Munn, Jay Ellis, Chrissy Teigen and Broadway star Kristin Chenoweth.

“I wanted to do something that people wouldn’t really expect me to dance to,” the Cleveland-based TikTok creator told The Post, adding that he was inspired to try the long-running drama series’ music because “whenever I’m at dance battles, this one DJ always plays it, so I thought that was pretty funny.”

After filming the clip, Vann “chuckled a little, but I didn’t think it was, like, that hilarious, you know?” he recalled.

Fortunately for Vann, he was wrong.

The video has been viewed on TikTok by nearly 3 million people and garnered tens of thousands of delighted comments.

Even the WNBA’s New York Liberty mascot Ellie the Elephant and the famed Savannah Bananas baseball club performed it during recent games.

“The fact that people are enjoying it and seeing it has just made me happy,” Vann said.

Hargitay and Gillis even took part in the viral “Law & Order” dance.
The moves were created by performer Stephon Vann (center, in his viral video).
The Savannah Bananas baseball team followed suit during a recent game.
Vann thought it would be funny to create a dance to the iconic theme music, created by Mike Post. But he didn’t expect the ultimate reactions.
A shocked Vann was “jumping up and down for joy,” he told The Post of seeing Hargitay and Giddish perform the moves.

Show fans, too, were thrilled.

“WAIT. They really saw the video & posted the OFFICIAL SVU dance … THIS IS LEGENDARY!!!” wrote one.

Another jokingly referenced Hargitay’s character, whom she has played for more than 20 years on the NBC drama, writing, “There is some poor girl tied up on a fire escape waiting to be rescued and y’all in here doing TikToks! … Get to work, Olivia!”
