Food influencer Emma Amit has reportedly died after eating a toxic crab.

Multiple outlets reported that Amit, 51, died in the hospital on February 6, two days after she filmed herself eating the toxic Zosimus aeneus crab, known as the “Devil Crab.”

She had posted the video of her eating the crab on social media on February 4. The clip showed Amit hunting the crab — and snails and shellfish — near her home in Puerto Princesa, Palawan, before cooking and eating one of them from the post.

Barangay Chief Laddy Gemang told Philippine news outlet ABS-CBN that she lost consciousness after eating the crab. Amit was then taken to the hospital. A friend of the content creator’s consumed the crab and also died.
