Gabby Windey is spilling the tea about where she stands with her ex-fiancé, Erich Schwer, and what led to their eventual breakup.

“I mean, we’re not OK,” Windey, 34, quipped on the Thursday, May 29, episode of the “Just Trish” podcast. “He just didn’t have his s*** together. He didn’t have a job, didn’t want to get a job, and that was basically it. I’m like, ‘How are you going to go on a TV, bamboozle me into thinking you’re a normal person and then get off the show and you have no income?’”

Windey met Schwer, 32, on her season 19 of The Bachelorette. While they got engaged in the finale, they broke up several months later at the start of her stint on Dancing With the Stars.

While Windey acknowledged on Thursday that many factors contributed to their breakup, she also wondered whether Schwer was really in it for love or simply trying to turn his reality TV tenure into an influencer career.

Before Gabby Windey said “I do” to Robby Hoffman, she said “yes” to Erich Schwer’s proposal on season 19 of The Bachelorette. Bachelor Nation fans met Erich, 32, as one of the men hoping to win either Gabby, 35, or her fellow leading lady Rachel Recchia’s affections on The Bachelorette in 2022. After choosing to […]

“Men cannot be influencers,” Windey joked. “It’s, like, ‘Hello, nobody wants to buy anything from you.’ Like, you can be hot, dude, but that can only get you so far. We’re not buying razors.”

According to Windey, she “would have been fine”  with Schwer starting a second career as an OnlyFans content creator — if she thought his intentions were pure.

“Because at least he would have had, like, subscriptions and income,” she quipped. “But, no, he was just waiting for brand deals, I think. … It’s just, like, our goals weren’t aligned. Meeting Robby [Hoffman, my wife, showed me that] as women, we just have our s*** together. She’s so driven, she’s so smart. We’re going to pursue each other in our careers, and he just didn’t even know what that meant.”

Windey met Hoffman, 35, a year after she went on DWTS. It was her first relationship with another woman. Windey, who now publicly identifies as a lesbian, married Hoffman in January.

“As I become more secure in my relationship and watching her succeed and have everyone see what I see in her, I’m like, ‘This is just what happens when you’re with a special person,’” Windey gushed. “She’s so driven [and] she doesn’t want to stop. She wants to take acting really seriously [and] see what she can do with it. So, I’m like, ‘Damn, that’s my girl.’”

Windey further noted that she has undisclosed work plans “for all of June,” and the Hacks actress will come visit toward the end of the month.

“She’s been moving all her [comedy] shows, so we’ve spent the last three [or] four nights together, just having dinner, staying in,” Windey said. “It’s the happiest I’ve ever been.”

Windey previously said in 2023 that she hadn’t heard from Schwer since the breakup. He also hasn’t publicly addressed their past romance since.
