Heather Rae El Moussa addressed the ongoing cancellations at HGTV — and what it means for season 2 of The Flip Off.

The reality star, 37, spoke exclusively with Us Weekly while promoting a new PETA campaign that features her 2-year-old son, Tristan, and revealed whether she heard from the network after seven shows were pulled off the air so far.

“We actually haven’t. Obviously, I do know they are going through big internal changes, so I’m not quite sure what’s going on there,” Heather, who has appeared on The Flip Off, Flipping 101 and The Flipping El Moussas with husband Tarek El Moussa, shared. “I don’t have a statement for that, but I can say how much I’ve enjoyed being on HGTV.”

Heather spoke highly about her time on HGTV, telling Us, “I love filming The Flip Off and Flipping El Moussas and I love flipping houses. But I don’t know internally what’s going on.”

The drama began in June after HGTV canceled five shows: Battle on the Beach, Farmhouse Fixer, Married to Real Estate, Bargain Block and Izzy Does It.

While the network hasn’t publicly addressed whether there will be more cuts, a source exclusively told Us this month that Tarek, 43, and Heather’s Flipping El Moussas is “not coming back” to HGTV. The same goes for Tarek’s ex-wife Christina Haack’s series Christina on the Coast, which has also “not been renewed.”

According to a second insider, the trio’s The Flip Off is meant to be “back for a second season, but there is no filming date or air date yet.” The show, which premiered in January, was HGTV’s highest-rated freshman series among adults since 2022.

“Anything could happen. To be honest, it was a great show and it still is a great show,” Heather told Us about whether The Flipping El Moussas could come back in some capacity in the future. “I know that the fans loved it, and Tarek and I really, really enjoyed filming that show. It’s definitely a challenging market right now — and with real estate in general. But I think anything could happen.”

Heather noted she doesn’t “have any news” about her HGTV shows — including season 2 of The Flip Off. “But I do know the fans would love to see it back and all three of us would love to see it back,” she added, hinting at the possibility of her and Christina, 42, working together against Tarek. “We will definitely throw that idea around if season 2 comes about. But I love my partners and my husband.”

Before joining HGTV, Heather got her start acting, modeling and doing real estate, which Netflix viewers saw on the early seasons of Selling Sunset. Still, Heather sees HGTV as “the home base” for renovation projects.

“There’s so many other shows that I would love to do. I would love to get into hosting and I’m definitely open to [new opportunities],” she shared. “I’ve been on TV for many, many years. I modeled, I shot some commercials and there’s a lot to me that I would love to tap into.”

Us‘ favorite pitch was Heather and Tarek possibly hosting a dating show together.

“Tarek and I have super fun banter with each other and we love filming together. But even by myself, there’s so many different shows that I would love to host or be on,” she continued. “But also, I don’t know if I could be away from my baby for months at a time. It would have to be something that doesn’t take me away from the family for too long.”

Heather didn’t have to take time away from her son while filming a new PETA campaign encouraging families to dump dairy in favor of delicious vegan cheeses. The sweet video shared by PETA showed Heather trying the different vegan options after having fun with Tristan on set.

“Tristan is super comfortable in front of the camera. He has been on camera since he was in my belly. So he is really used to being on camera in front of pictures and he’s used to being around a lot of people because we had the crew in our house since he was born,” she told Us. “He loved it and he did so good. It was so cute.”

Heather loved the chance to work with PETA again — this time to promote the organization’s free Empathy Kits for people who need a lesson in kindness and free vegan starter kits for anyone thinking of making the switch.

“I did a campaign with PETA around my engagement and having this one be with Tristan was just really special,” she added. “I think a lot of people are scared to go vegan because they don’t know how to eat and they don’t even know where to begin. So I like spreading awareness.”

Heather continued: “But it’s not as challenging and difficult as people may think. We’re doing good for the environment and we’re doing good for animals. There’s a lot of really great dairy and meat alternatives out there and I think people just aren’t aware.”
