DTG implemented a fully interactive configurator with automated pricing logic, integrating it into The Cabinet Shop’s Shopify-based e-commerce environment. Cupboards served as the initial rollout category, with the platform designed to expand to the wider range and to support emerging technologies including AI-assisted design automation.
The collaboration targeted existing workflow challenges while building capacity for future digital transformation.
In the past, customers typically exchanged emails and forms to explore customised cabinetry. The new platform lets them adjust dimensions, finishes and layout options directly online while previewing visual updates and pricing in real time.
Designers previously produced one-off drawings for most orders. The new system automates common configurations, enabling the design team to work more efficiently and focus craftsmanship on projects requiring specialist design expertise.
Every configuration outputs manufacturer-ready technical details, reducing risk of production inaccuracies. Validation rules ensure user selections remain structurally sound and technically feasible.
Future categories planned for the platform include media storage, dressers and shelving units. DTG’s modular engine allows these additions to be incorporated rapidly and cost-effectively.
The solution also generates multiple tailored product variations to align with different search behaviours, improving organic reach and engaging customers earlier in their buying journey.
