Influencer Carly Douglas‘ family is thankful for fans’ support after her death at age 36.

“The family is incredibly grateful for the love, support, and prayers that have been poured out for them, the last few months. They ask that moving forward, you live like Carly 💛,” read a comment shared via Douglas’ Instagram account after news broke of her death.

Douglas died on Saturday, June 13, according to a lengthy tribute shared via social media.

“Carly fought cancer with grit and determination; while being full of hope and always pointing anyone who would listen, back to God, the One who held her in the palm of His hand,” the captioned read. “Carly was joy personified, pure sunshine. It felt as though her smile was permanently stitched on her face and her laugh was constantly waiting to bubble out of her. To be known by Carly Faye, was to be loved by Carly Faye.”

Douglas shared three children — River, Faye and Townes — with her husband, David, who she loved “with everything she had.”

“Her best friend, her person, the man she could not wait to see walk through the door every evening. Their love was deep and wide and permeated every inch of their lives and home,” the Instagram post continued. “Carly loved her parents deeply, and family was always incredibly important to her. She shared an especially treasured bond with her mom, who was not only a parent but her best friend and the ultimate comfort through every season of life.”

The message noted that Douglas’ loved ones were “devastated” after her death.

“The Carly sized hole left in her family and friends’ lives will never be filled. But, we do not grieve without hope. We know she is whole, complete, and the most joyful, radiant version of herself. More than anything, Carly would want everyone who reads this to pursue God and the eternal peace she now has. Carly Faye Douglas is home 💛,” the post concluded.

Just months before she died, Douglas revealed in March that she was diagnosed with gastric cancer. She documented her health journey via Instagram, sharing glimpses of her experience with treatment while navigating motherhood.

In April, Douglas posted a series of family photos, calling her husband and children her “home.”

“I almost cancelled these pictures a couple of weeks ago,” she confessed in the caption. “I was in a lot of pain this day, the kids were less than enthused about taking photos, & truthfully, I was struggling this day with my appearance and not feeling as confident with so many physical changes in the last month.”

Douglas added, “But one very important thing I’ve learned over the last month is that we are not promised tomorrow. Every day, every hour is truly a gift and deserves to be celebrated. I’ll cherish these pictures and these people forever and ever.”
