Ireland Baldwin gave fans a glimpse at her daughter’s connection with her dad, Alec Baldwin, in celebration of his birthday.
“Happy birthday to Peepaw,” Ireland, 29, wrote via Instagram on Thursday, April 3, sharing a throwback photo of Holland, now 22 months, and Alec, 67, whom the toddler calls “Peepaw.”
Ireland, who is the eldest of Alec’s children, appeared to be writing from her daughter’s point of view, adding, “I’m so glad you were born. Because of your born-ness, I was born-ed. I love you!” Alec replied in the comments section, “And I love you.”
The Boss Baby actor had a big grin on his face in the photo while Holland stood on his lap. The little one threw her hands up over her head while posing for the snap.
While Ireland paid tribute to her father from afar his other seven children saw the birthday boy in person on Thursday.
“Happy Birthday, Alec 🩷. We love you!” his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, captioned an Instagram video of their children singing Alec “Happy Birthday” around their kitchen table. Alec sang along in the video before blowing out his candles with the help of his little ones.
Alec first became a father in 1995 when he and then-wife Kim Basinger welcomed Ireland. The couple divorced in 2002 after nine years of marriage.
Alec married Hilaria, 41, in 2012 and they have since welcomed Carmen Gabriela, 11, Rafael Thomas, 9, Leonardo Ángel Charles, 8, Romeo Alejandro David, 6, Eduardo “Edu” Pao Lucas, 4, María Lucía Victoria, 4, and Ilaria Catalina Irena, 2.

“My relationship with my daughter Ireland was so negatively impacted by my divorce with her mother — and having a very protracted custody battle,” Alec recalled on the March 2 episode of his TLC series The Baldwins. “The financials were probably a year and a half and everything else was custody. It was just insanity and really tough.”
The actor noted although he regrets how he handled the divorce, he is happy with where he and Ireland stand now.
“One of my most regrettable things was how it affected Ireland,” Alec shared. “But she is grown and is 29 years old. I have a good relationship with her, and she loves the kids [I share with my wife]. She is sweet to them and is their older sister, but she isn’t in that pack.”
