Jared Goff has shared what it was like after Taylor Swift mentioned his name on a podcast listened to by millions of people in the first 24 hours after it dropped.

According to Sports Illustrated on Thursday, August 14, the Detroit Lions quarterback said his phone nearly exploded with messages after the “Bad Blood” singer name-dropped him on the “New Heights” podcast earlier this week.

“Yeah, pretty crazy, huh? Very cool, I guess,” the NFL star, 30, told reporters. “That was a crazy couple hours last night for me and my phone. I was like, ‘Oh, okay.’ But yeah, pretty cool.”

Swift was a very special guest on the Wednesday, August 13 episode of “New Heights,” which is cohosted by the singer’s boyfriend Travis Kelce, 35, and his brother Jason, 37.

In the episode, the “Shake It Off” songstress, 35, spoke about her initial limited knowledge of the ins and outs of NFL prior to meeting and subsequently dating Travis.

Swift also joked about the mixed reaction she’s received from “male sports fans” since she began dating Travis in summer 2023 and has been a regular fixture at many of his games.
