There is nothing wrong with kissing your friends — at least according to Jonathan Bailey.

The 37-year-old actor defended kissing Jurassic World Rebirth costar Scarlett Johansson on the lips at several red carpet events for the film.

“I believe in being able to show love in all different ways,” Bailey told Entertainment Tonight at the movie’s New York City premiere on Monday, June 23. “And if you can’t kiss your friends … life’s too short not to.”

Bailey and Johansson, 40, made headlines for initially locking lips at the Jurassic World Rebirth premiere in London on June 17. Photos showed Johansson grabbing Bailey’s face and planting a smooch on his lips while they hugged. The actors received some backlash as Johansson is married to Colin Jost.

She also discussed her history with the film franchise.

“When I saw the first Jurassic Park movie, I was 10 years old in the theater and part of the impression it left on me was the jump scares, the laughs, but the terrors for sure,” said Johansson, who is taking on the role of covert operative Zora Bennett. “That’s part of what’s so great about Jurassic. It’s thrilling in all ways: visually and also emotionally.”

During the London premiere last week, Johansson spoke about Cosmo and revealed that her youngest is a Chappell Roan fan.

“I mean, my son’s favorite Chappell song is H-O-T T-O G-O, ‘HOT TO GO!,’” she told MTV UK at the time. “I don’t know if it’s my favorite, but because he sings it, it has become my favorite.”
