Todd Chrisley’s mom, Nanny Faye, had a health scare after he and Julie Chrisley were released from prison.

Faye, 81, joined her son and daughter-in-law on the Wednesday, August 6, episode of their “Chrisley Confessions 2.0” podcast. The trio discussed how Todd and Julie’s prison stay impacted their familial relationships — especially with Faye.

“I think people don’t realize it, which I think is just such a God thing. When you were diagnosed with bladder cancer, I was there with you,” Julie, 52, recalled during the podcast episode. “We went to Vanderbilt. We did what we had to do to get through that.”

Faye was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2021. She announced in 2023 — while Todd, 56, and Julie were still imprisoned — that she was in remission.

“Literally, when we got pardoned, I think it was that same week, right? That you found out that there were some things that showed up,” Julie said. “I was there to take you to that appointment.”

He added, “Then, the irony of that was that we came home, and then two days later, you were back in the doctor’s office.”

Faye said Todd and Julie hadn’t been home for very long before Julie was “there with me” at the doctor’s office.

“That truly was a God moment because that is something,” Julie added. “I’m sure you had these same thoughts that, ‘Oh, my God, am I going to be alive when my kids come home?’ That was my fear, that you and that my parents would remain healthy and be OK until I could get there because I have always been that one to be the caretaker. I love that role. That is a role that I cherish.”
