Former Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe is doing whatever it takes to help her dog recover after a terrifying near-fatal overdose.

“I got a thermometer to make sure his temp[erature] is normal when I give him his meds,” Bristowe, 41, wrote via her Instagram Stories on Friday, October 30, noting her dog Pinot must be given medication multiple times throughout the night. “I can’t stop monitoring his breathing and it’s keeping me awake.”

Bristowe, who is also a dog mom to pooch Ramen, acknowledged that she was “just so scared” after Pinot was hospitalized for nearly a week after accidentally overdosing on his previously prescribed heart medication. (Bristowe claimed she was sent two bottles of chicken-flavored medication, which Pinot got into and consumed 120 pills.)

“His breathing is perfect, [but] I’m having anxiety from all of it,” Bristowe stated on Friday. “I can never let anything happen to him again. Taking him back to ER tomorrow to get X-rays and bloodwork just to be sure. [I] haven’t slept at all tonight.”

Bristowe further noted that she “will do anything” for Pinot, including getting him to take his medication by any means necessary.

“He also has found very creative ways to spit out his meds and still get the yogurt and banana,” she added, hinting that she wrapped the pills in a treat. “It takes me like 20 mins just to get them down, and then I’m like, ‘Wait, I’m hungry.’ So, I just ate three Reese’s [peanut butter] cups and four peppermint patties. This is a journey.”

Despite the health scare, Bristowe assured fans that Pinot was “still very much” the same pup.

“[It] is such a blessing,” she gushed.

Pinot’s health scare was admittedly “the scariest week” for the “Off the Vine” podcast host.

Kaitlyn Bristowe is looking out for her best friends. The former Bachelorette, 39, had been sharing custody of her two dogs, Ramen and Pinot, with ex Jason Tartick since they split in 2023. That arrangement stopped late last year when she explained that the golden retrievers were not responding well to the constant changes. Now, […]

“We were told to say goodbye, and I can’t even type that without sobbing,” she recalled in an Instagram statement shared earlier on Friday. “He was on a ventilator and was having seizures. Had a 20 percent chance to make it. I’d go every day to the critical care unit and lay with him because he always showed improvement when I was there.”

She added at the time, “After 5 torturous days in critical care, Pinot is home, and I now believe in miracles. He is still not in the clear and on a lot of meds around the clock. But the vets all said he definitely wanted to be here and is a fighter. I can’t believe it.”
