Kelsea Ballerini had boyfriend Chase Stokes on her mind during The Voice knockout rounds.
During the Monday, April 14, episode of NBC’s singing competition show, coach John Legend paired Jacquelyn George and Olivia Kuper Harris for a special matchup.
While both artists impressed the panel, it was Olivia’s take on Donna Summer’s “Last Dance” that got Kelsea, 31, thinking of her man back at home.
“Olivia, that first part made me want to go home and make out with my boyfriend,” she joked when referencing Chase, 32. “It was so strong and sexy, and then you got up and showed a playful side. As Adam would say in very caveman terms, ‘Big time wow.’”
Fellow coach Michael Bublé also raved about Olivia’s rendition of a disco classic.

“Both of the song choices literally made me want to go and make out with Kelsea’s boyfriend too,” he said as Kelsea burst out laughing. “Olivia, this was the first time in season 27 that we’ve seen someone play keyboards. I love that. There’s a Celine Dion sound to your voice. I will not be saying which one I choose because I feel you both killed it.”
As for Adam Levine, he was still trying to get over the fact that both Olivia and Jacquelyn picked other coaches earlier on in the season.
“Well you know, I had the unique pleasure of turning around and being denied by both of you,” he joked. “Olivia, you really blew my expectations tonight. That was big time wow.”
Ultimately, John, 46, had the final decision on who would move on to the playoffs. While he was “so proud” of both of his singers, he chose to take Olivia to the next round.
“Olivia, wow,” the “All of Me” singer gushed in a confessional interview. “She nailed it with style, with control and when she leans into that jazzy tone, it’s really special and there’s really no one else like her in the competition.”
Starting April 28, The Voice’s remaining artists will participate in the playoff rounds.
This season, Sheryl Crow will serve as a mega mentor for Kelsea and Michael’s teams. Meanwhile, Adam and John’s teams will receive guidance from LeAnn Rimes.
While each of the four judges have five remaining singers on their rosters, only two contestants from each team will move on to the live shows, scheduled for May.
The Voice airs on NBC Mondays at 8 p.m. ET. Catch up on old episodes anytime via Peacock.
