Kim Cattrall is still smitten by her longtime partner, Russell Thomas, after nearly a decade together.

“We’ve been together almost 10 years now,” Cattrall, 68, told The Times of London in a profile published on Thursday, June 12. “And we’ve had a blast. We’ve just had so much fun.”

Cattrall met Thomas, 54, in 2016, when she served as a guest editor on BBC’s Women’s Hour radio show and lived across the pond in England.

“He was an actor originally,” she recalled to The Times. “He’s had an incredibly interesting life and really done it on his terms. He’s a bit of a rebel, which I love.”

Cattrall and Thomas kept in touch after she left the U.K. and returned to her native Canada. While speaking to The Times, Cattrall asserted that she met Thomas at the right time in her life.

“Life has surprises and trade-offs. It was a bad time, but I learned a tremendous amount,” she said, specifically referring to her brother Christopher’s death by suicide in 2018 at the age of 55. “At the other end of it was this incredible, fun playmate.”

Cattrall has previously been candid about the couple’s 14-year age gap, once saying that it was “easy” to fall in love with Thomas despite him being younger.

“I’m very comfortable around him,” she shared on the “Modern Love” podcast in June 2023. “He’s a firecracker. He’s got a wicked sense of humor, and he’s easy on the eyes.”

The Sex and the City alum has been married three times: to writer Larry Davis from 1977 to 1979, to architect Andreas Lyson from 1982 to 1989, and to musician Mark Levinson from 1998 to 2004. She later proclaimed that she didn’t foresee herself walking down the aisle for a fourth time.

“I’ll never get married again,” Cattrall told the Sydney Morning Herald in 2010. “I don’t want children. I am self-sufficient.”

She added, “If I decide to spend time with someone, then I will. If marriage means something to someone else, I guess it could be a negotiated point, but I really don’t feel it’s necessary.”

Thomas eventually joined her in Vancouver as their relationship progressed.

“From the beginning, [Russ] and I felt like we needed to get out of town, so we came up to my house in Canada,” she told People in 2020. “I’m coming home again. The mountains, the orcas, when I was a teenager, I didn’t appreciate it. But now, they’re bringing me back.”
