In addition to being a legendary basketball star, Kobe Bryant was a devoted girl dad to his and wife Vanessa Bryant’s four daughters.
After tying the knot in 2001, Kobe and Vanessa became parents with the birth of Natalia in 2003. The couple welcomed Gianna three years later, followed by Bianka and Capri in 2016 and 2019, respectively.
While Vanessa was pregnant with their youngest daughter, Kobe joked that his wife “wants a boy more than I do” during a March 2019 interview with Extra. “I love having girls — I’m super, super excited about that. She is as well,” he said. “She wanted a boy so he can be mama’s boy forever — that sort of thing. We’ll see if I can deliver, I don’t know.”
Kobe retired from the NBA in 2016 after 20 seasons and five championships. He and Gianna died at ages 41 and 13, respectively, in January 2020 after his private helicopter crashed into the Calabasas, California, hillside, killing everyone on board.
