Lauryn “Pumpkin” Efird and Josh Efird aren’t exactly close to becoming friendly exes.
In Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek of the Friday, April 10, episode of Mama June: From Not to Hot, Pumpkin, 26, is ready to confront her ex for not being friendly with her new man, Darrin Kitchens.
“You moved on to another relationship and another child. If I can be cordial with that aspect, why can’t you be f***ing cordial?” Pumpkin asks in the tense preview. “You’re so ill at me because I moved on. You moved on way f***ing farther than I did. You made a whole ‘nother family.”
Seven months after finalizing his divorce from Pumpkin, Josh, 29, welcomed a baby with someone else. As for Pumpkin, she moved on with a new man who happens to be Josh’s cousin.
“You move faster than anybody else,” Josh claims. “I moved out. You moved him in.”
Pumpkin replies, “No, it didn’t work like that, actually. Your anger is the f***ing problem, and it has continued to be a problem. We have been divorced for a year, and you still can’t get it under control.”
Pumpkin filed for divorce from Josh, with whom she shares kids Ella, Bentley, and twins Sylus and Stella, in early August 2024. Since then, the pair have struggled to get to a good place as they adjust to their new normal.
“Pumpkin wanted this whole divorce thing, and I don’t even get why I should even be on her timeline at all or play nice with Darren,” Josh explains in a confessional interview. “I don’t have to move as fast as she wants me to.”

From Pumpkin’s perspective, she doesn’t have to change a thing when it comes to her love life.
“At some point,” she explained, “you’re going to have to get over the fact that Darren and I are together.”
Despite a heated conversation, both Pumpkin and Josh appear to agree that things need to improve for the sake of the children.
The main sticking point, however, is just how friendly Josh needs to be with his cousin.
“I have my kids with you. I didn’t have my kids with you and him,” Josh explains. “I don’t have to talk to him. I don’t have a reason to associate. I don’t have nothing for him.”
Pumpkin replies, “We have four kids plus Alana. We’re still gonna have to deal with each other. We’re still gonna have to be cordial. We’re still gonna have to figure things out with the kids. That doesn’t just go away.”
