Let’s talk about love and looks, folks, and the planet Venus.

Etymologically, Venus derives from the Latin word for desire — and in relation to fashion and aesthetics, the planet informs both what we’re drawn to and who and what we attract, fabrics and f–k boys alike.

Venus is named for the Roman goddess of love and fertility. The feminine counterpart to warlord Mars, Venus was born from sea foam and the severed schlong of Uranus, emerging tits out in a scallop shell — with bliss as her governing principle.

Hear, hear.

In-kind and in the name of good lighting, Venus is the ruling planet of Taurus and Libra — governing all the feel-good, look-good things like personal style, values, finances, interior design preferences, and romantic ‘type.’

As we enter into the cinnamon-scented, velvet-appointed parlors of Libra season, the time is nigh to do a little deep dive (not too deep — everyone knows Libra would rather keep it topical) into the relationship between Venus and style.

Use a birth chart calculator like this one to find your Venus sign. Once you’ve added your details, your Venus sign will populate within the zodiac wheel. The symbol for Venus is a squat cross topped with a circle.

To help you leverage the power of your Venus sign is astrologer Antonella, a zodiac compatibility expert at Psychic World.

She shares, “As the seasons change, it’s the perfect time to refresh your wardrobe and align with the magnetic energy of your Venus sign, which has a powerful influence on how you present yourself to the world.”

Antonella urges those with Venus in Aries to “Choose vibrant and powerful colors that exude confidence and vitality, such as fiery reds, oranges, bright yellows, and dynamic hues that capture the passionate spirit of Aries.

“When styling outfits, consider structured silhouettes, statement outerwear, and daring patterns that showcase your adventurous side. Embrace bold accessories and eye-catching details to add a touch of excitement and individuality to your outfits.”

For Venus in Taurus natives, Antonella imparts the following color theory: “Deep browns, warm oranges, olive greens, and shades of gold all resonate with the grounded and sensual energy of the bull. When styling, go for classics that emphasize quality, comfort, and elegance. Embrace textures like velvet, suede, or faux fur for a touch of luxury and warmth during the autumn season.”

Those born with Venus in Gemini can channel the expressive, curious energy of the sign by choosing a vibrant palette.

“Incorporate shades like vibrant yellows, playful pinks, light blues, and airy greens to add a sense of fun and adaptability to your autumn wardrobe. When styling, opt for versatile pieces and patterns, such as stripes, polka dots, or geometric prints, that can showcase the multifaceted personality of Venus in Gemini. Embrace layering with lightweight scarves, cardigans, and jackets to adapt to changing temperatures.”

Venus in Cancer folk can dress for their sign by choosing styles that feel something like swaddling.

“Opt for pieces that are soft, flowing, and gentle, such as oversized knits, cozy sweaters, and comfortable layers that wrap you in a sense of security. Embrace textures like cashmere, wool, or soft cotton to enhance the feeling of comfort and protection during the cooler autumn months.”

Venus in Cancer Lenny Kravitz takes this advice to new heights or knits as it were, breaking the internet with his preference for oversized scarves that easily double as blankets.

Antonella advises that beige is beautiful for this Venus sign.

“Go for earthy tones like beige, olive green, navy blue, and warm browns that resonate with the practical and down-to-earth nature of Venus in Virgo. Lean towards polished and neat looks with clean lines, classic cuts, and structured silhouettes that emphasize simplicity and functionality. Embrace smart layering with tailored blazers, stylish knitwear, and versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched effortlessly.”

We see this Venus placement’s ‘bow to beige’ aesthetic expressed in all its muted glory through native Kim Kardashian, whose home and car collection is famously devoid of color — even her sheets are taupe.

Antonella tells Venus in Libra folk to “Go for soft and pastel colors like blush pink, soft lavender, ivory, or light blue to reflect this placement’s inherent elegance. Consider classic pieces like A-line skirts, flowy dresses, tailored blazers, streamlined accessories, and fabrics like silk, chiffon, or linen with a lightweight and airy feel.”

If you’re of the Venus in Scorpio ilk, you can channel the transformative, sexually vested intensity of your sign by “incorporating rich, dark colors like deep reds, purples, blacks, and earthy tones into your wardrobe. Consider luxury fabrics like suede, velvet, and leather. For styles, you can explore body-hugging silhouettes, tailored pieces, and symbolic accessories that emit power and allure. Consider luxurious fabrics such as suede, velvet, and leather.

Look no further than Drake for an example of a man who lives this aesthetic, complete with a rich backlog of monochrome outfits and petty rivalries. Venus in Scorpio is deeply committed to sleep, sex, and obsession, which serves to explain why Drake dropped a cool $400,000 on a mattress that takes its inspiration from 18th-century saddles. Capricorn is a sign of practical luxury, ruthless strategy, and understated opulence.

As Antonella explains, “Venus in Capricorn brings a sophisticated vibe. You can embrace this energy by incorporating earthy and neutral colors like deep greens, browns, grays, and blacks that promote a sense of lux stability. Consider tailored pieces, structured silhouettes, and timeless basics that are versatile and elegant; opt for high-quality fabrics such as wool, cashmere, or tweed.”

Miley Cyrus, who has Venus in Capricorn, is well versed in making statement pieces pull double duty as strategic shade. Case in point: fans have speculated that the suit Cyrus wears in the video for “Flowers” is meant to echo one worn by Hemsworth at the “Avengers: Endgame” premiere in 2019, where he famously told her to “behave for once.”
