When it comes to the podcasting arena, influencer Madeline Argy knows she can always count on Alex Cooper.
“Creating the podcast, she was very hands on in that process — in terms of kind of helping me get set up with everything I needed at the very start to kind of take it from there,” Argy, 25, exclusively told Us Weekly while promoting CeraVe’s Blemish Barrier Patches. “She’s definitely a great mentor to have and she’s got probably the best expertise in this niche of podcasting for sure.”
Argy, who launched her “Pretty Lonesome” podcast under Cooper’s Unwell Network in 2023, gushed that the “Call Her Daddy” host is “so successful and so incredible.”
“She knows the game better than anyone, so she’s a great point of contact to have,” Argy said of Cooper, 31. “I really appreciate her help a lot.”
Argy rose to internet stardom in 2022 with her viral confessional video about a worm living in her sister’s leg, something she called a “defining moment” in her life. “My sister was not thrilled,” Argy recalled to Us. “It was kind of a running joke at the time.”
She has since landed on the TIME100 Creators List and amassed more than 9.6 million TikTok followers, including the likes of Madelyn Cline, Channing Tatum and Sabrina Carpenter — a “big day” in Argy’s life when she realized the pop star was keeping tabs on her.
“Probably half of my life I’ve been a fan of her so that was quite cool,” Argy said of Carpenter, 26. “I think that was probably the only time I’d ever truly been excited by something I’ve seen through my phone. A lot of what I see through my phone is really cool, but also feels a bit removed a lot of the time. I do actually vividly remember seeing her follow me and I probably did scream.”
Known for keeping it real with her fans, Argy is opening up the conversation about acne by partnering with CeraVe to help promote the launch of the brand’s first-ever Blemish Barrier Patches. She noted that she has “skin troubles in general” but feels like this product “really [does] something.”
“I think that it’s kind of nice to go about your day when you have a breakout and feel like you’re actively getting somewhere in terms of treating it,” Argy said of the Blemish Barrier Patches. “Wearing the patch, for example, and going out and about, it’s nice to know that something is taking care of the pimple during the day.”
