He had a grandfather-slam breakfast.
A Lincolnshire, UK, mom was “mortified” after walking into her living room to find her 1-year-old son devouring his grandpa’s cremated ashes, detailing the post-mortem dust-up in a viral TikTok video.
“I’m still trying to process it,” an aghast Natasha Emeny told Caters News Service.
The Lincoln resident had popped upstairs for just a few minutes to put away some laundry. When the Brit returned, she saw her son Koah “covered in ashes,” whereupon she realized — to her horror — that he’d unknowingly eaten her father’s remains.
“It took me a moment to realize it was, in fact, my dad’s ashes,” exclaimed Emeny, who quickly snapped a video at the scene of the grime.
The clip, captioned “When your son eats your dad,” shows the tiny terror innocently — and obliviously — strolling around the sofa with his clothes and face smeared with ashes like a volcano eruption survivor.
The camera then pans to an empty decorative vase with the top removed and his granddad’s dust spilled all around it.
“My son has eaten my dad’s ashes,” Emeny wailed in the clip.
She found the desecration particularly perplexing, given that she’d placed the urn on a “top shelf” where she thought the fam-ished tot couldn’t reach it — but was dead wrong.
In addition, the toddler had never previously shown any interest in the urn, despite it being “there his whole life,” Emeny insisted in the comments.
Thankfully, Koah didn’t suffer any adverse effects from his macabre meal. When his mother asked doctors for advice, “they said to give him water, and he’ll be fine,” she explained in the comments.
Viewers were appalled at the gastronomic get-together.
“Please say this is an April Fools’ joke!” exclaimed one, to which Emeny replied, “I wish it was.”
Thankfully, she’s learned to see the funny side of the posthumous family reunion, quipping, “He never met him [his grandfather], but now they are always together!”
“My dad would be creasing (cracking up), too,” the perplexed parent added. “He definitely would have laughed; we all love a bit of dark humor.”
This isn’t the first time a hangry toddler has eaten their grandpa postmortem.
In January, Colorado mom Monica Long was appalled after discovering that her sons might have consumed their grandfather’s ashes when she went to use the bathroom.
“The boys got PawPaw!” Long exclaimed in a clip of the incident.
