Ozzy Osbourne commemorated the final concert of his life just one day before his death.
Osbourne shared a behind-the-scenes photo from Black Sabbath’s Back to the Beginning show via Instagram on Monday, July 21.
The picture showed the outside of Osbourne’s dressing room at Aston, Birmingham, England’s Villa Park, where the concert was held on July 5.
“The Final Show,” the poster read, featuring a photo of Osbourne and his Black Sabbath bandmates Geezer Butler, Tony Iommi and Bill Ward.
Osbourne’s last Instagram post has become a place for fans to congregate and eulogize the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer.
“Thank you for the music you gave us Ozzy,” one fan wrote .”May you rest in peace.”
Another added, “RIP Ozzy Osbourne, the world won’t be the same without you.”
The legendary rocker died on Tuesday, July 22, his family announced in a statement. He was 76 years old.
“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” Osbourne’s family shared in a statement to Metro. “He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”
A cause of death has not been announced for Osbourne, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2020 and has faced other health struggles in recent years.
“You wake up the next morning and find that something else has gone wrong,” Osbourne told The Guardian in May. “You begin to think this is never going to end.”
In June 2022, Ozzy’s wife, Sharon Osbourne, revealed her husband was preparing to undergo a “major” operation.
“It’s really going to determine the rest of his life,” Sharon, 72, said on The Talk UK at the time.
The Back to the Beginning concert, which featured the final performance of Black Sabbath, raised money for children’s hospitals and the Cure Parkinson’s charity.
In addition to Osbourne and Black Sabbath, the show boasted performances from Ozzy superfans like Metallica, Mastodon, Jack Black, Alice in Chains, Guns N’ Roses and Slayer.
Ozzy posted a series of photos via Instagram from the star-studded backstage area.
“My first time meeting Axl Rose, at my age you don’t get to meet many legends, seriously an utter gentleman,” Ozzy wrote of meeting the Guns N’ Roses frontman.
Ozzy shared a picture with Metallica’s James Hetfield, writing, “Nothing like a good after show cuddle from my friend James.”
