QVC fashion designer Lawrence Zarian will never forget the memories he made working with retired program host Mary Beth Roe.
“Mary Beth is a legend. She planted the seeds there,” Zarian, 59, exclusively shared with Us Weekly at the 2025 GLAAD Media Awards on Thursday, March 27. “Every single thing she told me, I have written down.”
Although Zarian’s fashion line “BEAUTIFUL by Lawrence Zarian” has only been on the shopping network for a year, the designer treasured selling fashion staples with a QVC veteran.
“I think my favorite Mary Beth moment was when I designed a beautiful dress. She was wearing the dress that I designed,” he recalled. “As we were about to end the show, I said, ‘Come here. Let me spin you.’ And it’s the first time she ever danced with anybody on QVC. To have that moment with her was magic.”
On March 22, Roe said goodbye to QVC after 37 years in a celebratory show titled My Time with Mary Beth — Retirement Celebration.
Before her retirement officially kicked off, Roe explained to Us why it was time for a new chapter.
“I have four grandkids, and I don’t want to regret missing out on their lives because I spent another year or two working,” she explained. “Plus, I always said to myself I will never leave my team until I feel like my team is strong and cohesive and just a great team of hosts, and it is right now.”

Based on his experience sharing his fashion line with millions of home shoppers, Zarian can confirm that QVC is in good hands with a talented group of hosts.
“I have never been a part of a family in front of or behind the camera in this type of capacity where everybody wants you to win,” he said from the Beverly Hilton hotel. “With QVC, there are so many designers. There are so many hosts. There’s so many people wanting success, and we’re all supporting each other.”
Roe isn’t the first program host to bid farewell to QVC in recent months. Both Jennifer Coffey and Kerstin Lindquist recently said goodbye to the shopping network to pursue other projects and passions.
When asked about the bond between hosts and the audience, Zarian said they are all part of one family.
“You’re listening, you’re intrigued, you’re captivated,” he explained about home viewers. “You buy so they’re your friends. … [The hosts] are an investment in your life. They’re the best people. I’ve never been happier with a job, and it’s my forever home. I love them.”
