Dancing With the Stars season 34 contestant Scott Hoying and pro Rylee Arnold know they can count on her former partner Stephen Nedoroscik to be in their corner.
“Steve is just the best,” Rylee, 20, gushed exclusively to Us Weekly after the Tuesday, September 30, episode. “He came to the last little bit of our rehearsal a couple days ago and just hyped us up. He is genuinely so awesome.”
While competing on season 33 of the reality show, Rylee and the Olympian, 26, placed fourth overall. (Former Bachelor Joey Graziadei and pro Jenna Johnson took home the mirrorball trophy in 2024.)
“I miss him, and I’m just so grateful to have him back and to have such a good friend in him,” Rylee gushed about Stephen. “When I see him, it’s just so fun and so exciting.”
Stephen has also dispensed some of his dancing wisdom to Scott, 34 — which the Pentatonix singer said he has taken to heart.
“He was just telling me to have fun,” Scott told Us about Stephen’s advice. “He just has such good energy when he was at rehearsal. He was hyping us up. He’s just a ball of sunshine. I think, in a way, he was our good luck charm.”

In the spirit of TikTok Night, Rylee and Scott performed a jazz routine to Jennie’s “Like Jennie” and earned a combined score of 22 out of 30 from judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough and Bruno Tonioli.
“You just owned the floor. You were like, ‘This is my ballroom. Back off, I’m taking the space. I own the whole place.’ You are the king of TikTok Night. That was your element. You are in your element,” Carrie Ann said, while Derek quipped, “I have one word. Red. For red hot!”
Afterward, Scott gushed that he and Rylee are “feeling so good” with how the routine went.
“I have not stopped smiling,” he said. “I’m so relieved to have had a great week. I also felt so present out there and I felt like I was really enjoying myself. I didn’t know if I was ever gonna get to that because I’ve been so nervous. I feel like we’ve turned a page. Rylee’s amazing and got her flowers and her choreo ate.”
Scott and Rylee were ultimately safe from the elimination and sent through to Dancing With the Stars’ iconic Disney Night, where they will be performing a salsa to “Bop to the Top” from High School Musical. (Fifth Harmony’s Lauren Jauregui and pro Brandon Armstrong were sent home on Tuesday.)
Ahead of the season, Rylee told Us that she would be happy to take on the season with any partner who held a passion for dance.
“I’d honestly be OK with anyone that just wants to be there and wants to just learn and is excited about the whole process,” she said.
Dancing With the Stars premieres on ABC and Disney+ Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET, with new episodes streaming the next day on Hulu.
