Selena Gomez delivered a masterclass in wedding glam, starting with her Old Hollywood-style bob.

Gomez, 33, turned to Joico hair artist Renato Campora, who styled her tresses into a chic bob for her Saturday, September 27, wedding to Benny Blanco.

“In preparing Selena Gomez’s hair for a celebration of joy, unity, and love, every detail had to be perfect.” Campora said in a press release shared with Us Weekly after the couple’s nuptials. “To ensure a flawless foundation, I began by washing her hair twice with Joico Defy Damage Protective Shampoo, followed by a 30-minute treatment with the Joico Defy Damage KBOND20 Power Masque. This powerful combination resets the hair by removing buildup and thoroughly cleansing the hair.”

Campora noted that his treatment helps create hair “that’s primed to absorb essential nutrients, reduce frizz, enhancing moisture, shine, strength and protection from heat styling.”

Next, Campora towel-dried Gomez’s hair and carefully sectioned it off before combing her locks into a deep side part.

“Using a rat-tail comb, I created a deep side part and transitioned back to the nape of the neck, where I sectioned the hair into two-inch sections,” he explained. “Each section is treated with Joico JoiWhip Design Foam from roots to ends, then blow-dried with a large round brush and pinned to set and cool. I continued this technique across the entire head to achieve a voluminous and polished base. Once cooled, the hair is noticeably shiny, bouncy and full of life.”

To style Gomez’s mane, Campora used a three-quarter-inch spring curling iron to create a marcel wave pattern and pinned each curl to cool and hold its shape.

“After all curls have cooled for 20 minutes, I removed the pins and gently brush through each section to blend the waves together. Special attention is given to the face-framing pieces, which are shaped to highlight and enhance the facial structure,” Campora said, adding he finished her look with Joico’s unreleased Hold Hero High Hold & Shine Boosting Finishing Spray to ensure the look would remain perfect throughout the evening.
