Siesta Key alum Kelsey Owens is opening up about her recent pregnancy loss.

“This past week was a really bad one,” Owens, 28, tearfully said in a Friday, September 19, Instagram video. “Max [Strong, my husband] and I have been trying to get pregnant, and we were blessed to find out in August that we were pregnant.”

Owens and Strong got married in May 2024 after four years of dating.

“I did find out yesterday [that] I miscarried,” she said on Friday. “I just want to say that any woman who has gone through this, I am sending so much love. You are not alone. This can feel so lonely ‘cause we’re told not to share about this [until you are 12 weeks along]. No matter what, this baby’s a part of my story.”

It has been a difficult road to parenthood for many celebrity parents, including Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. After in vitro fertilization didn’t work on the first try, Teigen wondered if she had done something wrong. “You just look for anything to blame, especially yourself,” Teigen explained to New York Magazine’s The Cut in April […]

A reported one in four pregnancies will end in a miscarriage, according to the Mayo Clinic, although that number is believed to be higher as many individuals can miscarry without ever knowing they were pregnant.

In her Friday video, Owens broke down in tears and revealed that “it’s the first time” she’s been pregnant. She also shared that she had announced her pregnancy to her and Strong’s family ahead of her miscarriage.

“It will always be so special to me, and I’m just praying for anyone else going through it that you guys will have healthy beautiful babies one day — and that will be the same for me,” she said. “Please keep me in your prayers, and I’ll be praying so much for all the other women going through it.”

Owens further opened about grieving her pregnancy loss in a lengthy Instagram caption.

“Even though my pregnancy ended in miscarriage, it still matters,” she wrote. “It’s part of my story, my heart, my hope and my prayer that one day I’ll get to hold my healthy baby in my arms. The exact child God always meant for Max and I to have.”
