Suge Knight gave an interview from prison in defense of Sean “Diddy” Combs — despite their long-standing rivalry — amid the rapper’s ongoing trial.

“Puffy, [is] not guilty for the things he did to these people,” Knight, 60, said during the Thursday, May 29, episode of Piers Morgan Uncensored. “He’s guilty for being a cold, freaky man that wants freaky things done to him.”

Knight acknowledged, “Yeah, do Puffy do weird stuff?” but insisted that shouldn’t equate to prison time. “If Puffy got [on the] stand and told the truth, I know he’ll walk,” he explained.

Knight — who founded Death Row Records and has a rivalry with Diddy and his Bad Boy Records label — taped his interview from a San Diego, California, prison where Knight is serving 28 years after being convicted of voluntary manslaughter in 2018.

Since the trial of Sean “Diddy” Combs kicked off at the Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse in New York City on May 5, numerous witnesses have taken the stand to testify about their alleged interactions with the rapper. Diddy was arrested in September 2024 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage […]

When it comes to Diddy’s trial, Knight noted that in the case of Diddy’s ex-girlfriend Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura) the so-called “freak offs” the then-couple participated in didn’t prove that Diddy was involved in sex-trafficking.

“In the Cassie situation, they could not say he was having sex with the man also, because that’ll make him like [it was an] orgy. It won’t be like sex-trafficking. It won’t be like forcing stuff to do,” Knight claimed. “But at the end of the day, there’s no way Puffy should go to prison for the rest of his life.”

Diddy was arrested in September 2024 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy and transportation to engage in prostitution. He has pleaded not guilty.

Cassie took the stand New York City’s Daniel Patrick Moynihan U.S. Courthouse during ex-boyfriend Sean “Diddy” Combs’ trial, testifying about their relationship and her allegations against him. The singer, 38, began her testimony on Tuesday, May 13, by describing her relationship with Diddy, 55, claiming that it was marked by violence. “There were violent arguments […]

Cassie, meanwhile, had an on-off relationship with Diddy from 2007 to 2018. In November 2023, she filed a lawsuit against her ex alleging he physically assaulted her, raped her in the past and was violent. He denied the allegations, and the pair settled out of court. Cassie has since detailed Diddy’s alleged abuse toward her while testifying for the prosecution in his federal case.

Cassie, however, hasn’t been the only of Diddy’s alleged victims to take the stand. Diddy’s former assistant Capricorn Clark alleged on Thursday, May 27, that the rapper threatened to kill her when he learned she knew about Cassie’s romance with Kid Cudi, which took place during one of their relationship breaks.

Clark also testified that Diddy threatened her early in her employment because she failed to disclose that she previously worked for his rival Knight.

During her second day of testimony, Cassie claimed that Sean “Diddy” Combs threatened her after learning about her relationship with Kid Cudi. On Wednesday, May 14, Cassie (real name Casandra Ventura) recalled Diddy found out that she was dating Cudi (real name Scott Mescudi) in 2011 when Diddy searched through Cassie’s emails during a “freak […]

Knight, meanwhile, told Piers Morgan on Thursday that Diddy “beat the s*** out of” Clark in the past and he knew about it. He alleged that after she was beaten, Clark was given a “check” by an executive from a record company to keep quiet.

“I feel bad for Capricorn on the simple fact that she went through a lot,” Knight said, adding that he thinks the others involved should also be held accountable.

When Morgan, 60, pointed out that the evidence shows that Diddy was violent toward women, Knight interjected. “I’m not saying he’s not guilty of a majority of stuff he’s done,” Knight replied.

Knight previously spoke with Chris Cuomo on NewsNation’s Cuomo, and once again said Diddy should not face prison time for the RICO charges.

“I say this all the time, Puffy and I are not friends, but Puffy should definitely walk free,” Knight said on Tuesday, May 27. “The most important thing is that it was other executives that was involved in Puff’s life. And for Puffy to be the only guy that gets on the stand is a sad day for hip-hop.”
